The "slow flow" nipples that comes with my bornfree and avent bottles are too fast for my breastfed baby. This nipple's hole is located on the top side rather than the center of the nipple. This make it super slow flow as my baby needs to suck against gravity to get his milk.

My baby had no confusion between breast and this artificial nipple. I would recommend this to breastfeeding moms.

i started giving my baby a bottle with a slow flow nuk nipple before she was even 2 weeks old, and she never once has had nipple confusion, i breastfeed and she does great, she's now 6 weeks and doesn't have any problems going back and forth, i also like their pacifiers. nuk is the best if you breastfeed.

Baby did not like the Born Free nipples, but really liked the Nuk nipples. Fit perfectly in Born Free glass and plastic bottles. Was less gassy with these nipples. There are additional parts with Born Free (little inner grommet) and adds to the time to prepare a bottle and adds to the stuff to clean. In hind sight, i should have gotten the nuk bottles which would have been easier. But, i have the born free bottles, and at least this nipple paired with the born free bottles allowed me to not have to buy new bottles.

Great product. Very durable. Easy to clean. By far my baby boy's favorite nipples. Really like the fact they are orthodontic.

I got these because of the review that said that a breastfed baby would do great with it, but since then I have discovered that orthodontic nipples are just a bad idea for breastfed babies in general. I'm glad it worked for that mom, but most of the breastfeeding mothers that I have spoken to have found that orthodontic nipples don't work as well as regular ones for reducing nipple confusion (at least with young babies that are trying to learn to take a bottle).

My 7 week old baby isn't very interested in bottles at all, but if I work with her I can get her to latch for a minute on a regular silicone nipple and I can get her to eat at least an ounce from a regular latex nipple. (Playtex NaturaLatch seems to be working best for us), but she won't try anything with an orthodontic nipple (bottles or pacifiers).

Also, these are supposed to be slow flow, but I don't think its slow enough. With the Playtex NaturaLatch nipples, her suction determines the speed of the flow. With these, it flows kind of slowly but it does so without her having to suck on it, and since she doesn't want it, she isn't swallowing and we end up with a mess.

This product did arrive in good condition, so if you aren't breastfeeding, or if you happen to have a breastfed baby that is willing to take an orthodontic nipple without confusion, then it may work for you, but don't expect it to be anything like the breast. (to see if your baby will take an orthodontic nipple, you might try an orthodontic nipple pacifier first).

these nipples literally tear in about a weeks or two, making them useless and you dont even know until your baby is choking and you realize that the tear makes it a huge gusher.

also they come in different sizes and you can not tell the different sizes unless you look at the bottom rim and hold it up in the light and just the right angle to see the stupid little S or M, really?! is that what you want to me doing at 2am? trying to figure out if you have the right nipple size or if it has a tear in it. no thanks!
