Let's face it - these sports-themed Uno sets have a short shelf life. Sports athletes get traded, sign ridiculously expensive new free agent contracts elsewhere or retire, within a year or two of your purchase. So, you can look at these as collector's items, if you like, but what works better are those sets, like Uno's New York Knicks basketball set, that take the long view approach - portraits of great team players from years gone by, as well as some of the current, long time veterans. More interesting and valuable would be a Yankees Uno set that included the Babe, Lou Gehrig, Joe D, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Phil Rizzuto, Whitey Ford, Ron Guidry, Reggie Jackson, Goose Goosage, Don Mattingly, Mo Rivera, Derek Jeter & Bernie Williams - all players who achieved great fame as members of the Yankees.

The design of the cards, though, is pleasing, mimicking the Yankee colors and pinstripes. The special Acquisition Card is a nice addition to the set, as well.
