5.0 out of 5 stars BEST DANCE CD IN THE WORLD!!
I bought this album because a friend of mine is a huge dance fan and plays Louie Devito CDs all the time. I only got it for the one song (L'Italiano) that they play all the time on the radio but the rest of the CD is amazing. It is not like a regular dance mix where the songs are so obscure that you don't even know them. It is 2 CDs worth of cool songs that are playing in...

After hearing about another addition in louie devito's nyc undergroud party, I was hesitant to go and purchase it. His last volume, had great tracks, but tom many tracks that sounded the same.Spanning two discs, i was interested in seeing what tracks louie had this time around. Sadly, the songs on this cd once again seem to buld up and then disappointment. One song, that...

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST DANCE CD IN THE WORLD!!, November 6, 2002

I bought this album because a friend of mine is a huge dance fan and plays Louie Devito CDs all the time. I only got it for the one song (L'Italiano) that they play all the time on the radio but the rest of the CD is amazing. It is not like a regular dance mix where the songs are so obscure that you don't even know them. It is 2 CDs worth of cool songs that are playing in the clubs and are remixed so that everyone will want to own it. I definitely recommend this CD to dance fans but also people who aren't fans of dance music will enjoy this CD too. If I had to sum up this Cd in one phrase: "IT IS A FUNKY, SEXY CD THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO OWN!!!"

One song, that i was sure to be a great choice, was the new one from iio, "at the end". however, the remix that devito chose is the one that sounds the worst, opting to go for a more tribal sound, he chose the Johnny Vicious mix. He should have done everyone one a favor and gone for the more unique scumfrog mix.Next, Armin Van burin's Perpetuous Dreamer song " Sound of goodbye", a great song choice, but come on, the robbie rivera mix, you can't even understand the song anymore. Another, thing this cd has wrong with is, tracks that are too old to be passed on as new ones, like marc et claude's,"tremble",4 string's "take me away(into the night), mad'house "like a prayer", lasgo, "alone",and the hit of ibiza last year,Tim Deluxe featuring. Sam Obernik, "It Just won't do". this cd would have been fun to listen to, if it was released last year. The only thing , that will make people buy this cd, is the big white sticker in the front "Featuring: L'Italiano: The Italian Song". Save your selves, the agony, and money by not purchasing this cd.

1.0 out of 5 stars very dissapointed, December 12, 2004
This review is from: NYC Underground Party 5 (Audio CD)
This CD absolutely sucks. There are maybe about seven songs out of the whole 28 that i will actually listen too. i dont know what happened, i have volumes 3 and 4 and they are the best Cd's out of my whole collection of electronic music. As being a big fan of Louie Devito he betterpick out some better songs. I dont know about anybody else but i like pure techno and trance on mmy cd's. Not stupid pop songs and old Madonna remakes.

I admit, this cd is not Louie's best, but this cd is definitely not as awful as everyone makes it seem. You read the reviews on here and you would think this is Bob Denver's greatest hits remixed into club anthems. From my experience, the more you listen to this voulme, the more it grows on you. I at first thought disc 2 sucked, but then I listened to the whole thing when I was stuck in major traffic after work, and it's not that bad. It has a good mix of decent songs, some that you actually find yourself moving too as they go on. Disc 1 is pretty good, especially with the songs "In Your Eyes", "No One is Gonna Change You", "At the End", and my sleeper pick "Wonderland". I would recommend this cd to anyone who wants a club fix for songs that were out in late 2002.

I have a lot to say about this album, but all I am going to say is ONE DISC. This would be the best one of the series if you take a select few songs from both discs and put them on one. Louie you tried to hard this time, less is more. A big fan of Louie Devito

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best of the series . . ., November 5, 2002

For several years now, Louie Devito has brought the best of dance music and put it all on one cd. This year he puts out two discs. Not the best of the 5 New York Underground Part series, but provides a lot of hot club tracks (mostly in the second Disc). It's a good buy.

enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wait this one out, December 20, 2002

This has a couple of good dance songs on it that you are likely to hear at a club. If you can get over the cheese of L'Italiano...
There are a couple of good underground hits, but a lot of radio stuff. I probably would not have bought it if I had heard it from a friend first. There are a lot of repeat songs that are found on other current DJ Cd's so read the track listings before you buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost Five Stars, August 3, 2005
This review is from: NYC Underground Party 5 (Audio CD)
It loses points because there are more filler tracks than great ones. More specifically, 9 out of 28 tracks are good. Some of them are so good that I had to give this double album at least a 4. Overall, not a must have, but if you like this type of music, it might be worth a purchase.

This has to be one of the best dance mixes ever put out. It has a great variety from my favorite track "It just won't do" from Tim deluxe to the hard core "goin thru'it" from Johnny P. This set was all it took to turn my girlfriend from a nasty country fan to a big dance lover. Of course im not saying louie devito is a genious but he has awesome taste and comes up with the best mixes I've ever listened to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, June 24, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: NYC Underground Party 5 (Audio CD)
Awesome CD. The compilation of songs are great although I think the second CD has better songs on it. This is the kind of CD you could put on at a party and not have to constantly change CD's for the best songs. Overall, a good choice for a dance music fan.
