However, I do like to use this all over my lids whenever I want to create a beautiful golden sheen for a look.
When swatched with a finger, it feels very silky and buttery. Unblended, Vanilla Sky is quite pigmented and slightly borders on being chalky.
Once I blend it and gently rub it into the skin, it becomes much more sheer and gives off a sort of metallic, soft, golden-yellow-cream colored sheen.
Be careful with this color- it may not seem like you're applying a lot of color on your skin, but in the sunlight, this gives off an intense golden sheen.
Also looks lovely in the inner corners.
I was a MAC eyeshadow devotee just because I liked a few other things of their brand (their lipsticks, I fiend for!!) but Smashbox always performed better in the eyeshadow department. Every time I'd use a MAC eyeshadow I'd think, "these cost HOW much? Shouldn't they be easier to work with/deeper color/longer lasting" etc. But it was MAC so I kept using it. Finally a friend sent me an NYX color, and as I used it I thought wow these things must cost a fortune! The color payoff, the ease of application were so amazing, they FELT like I had expected the MAC should. Then I found out how inexpensive NYX is; if I had known how 'cheap' they were before I used them I might have been biased against them before I used them. Now? I can't get enough of them. The only other brand of eyeshadow I will not toss out is my Smashbox, but the NYX has beat everything else to death.
I see people occasionally say they get a lot of fallout; I don't know why you would with THIS color. But if it is a glittery color (like Hot Green), use Glitter Glue by Too Faced. Apply with a sponge or a dabbing motion with a nice thick eye brush like this one real Techniques Shading Brush (Pack of 2) Just pack and dab. I promise the stuff will stay on, and be rich.
As for SENSUAL, I apply it wet just because when I put on my eyeshadow in the morning, I need it to last at least 10 hours.Read more ›
I am a makeup junky and mediocre makeup artist. I'm always searching for new stuff by swapping online and purchasing new when I can. This happened to be an item that was an add-on to a higher end swap. It has become a staple for me now though!
This is my first Nyx item owned, and I had never heard of the color. When I got it, I wasn't sure how to use this shimmering orange sunset shade. It's a pretty color, but I had never really incorporated bright oranges into my art prior. Nonetheless, I decided to hang onto it.
After becoming bored with my current routines and reaching back for this shade, I learned a look with it I love! After using my UD Primer, my MUFE #92 on my lid, this Nyx Africa above the MUFE, a complimenting highlight, and usually UD Zero as my accent, then blend it together, add bold black liner and mascara and defined filled in eyebrows, it's gorgeous! I prefer bold colors so this look is great for me, but it could also work as a more mild and natural look if you use the Africa as the bold color.
I recently went to Ulta, and they didn't have this shade anymore. I hope it's not being discontinued, but nontheless, I'm looking forward to trying out more of Nyx's wide array of gorgeous colors.
If you want orange-based bright red, get Nyx Extreme Apricot.
If you want deep hot pink, get Nyx Red Head.
Also, quality control leaves something to be desired as this is the second Nyx eyeshadow I've purchased from Amazon that has had the pan jarred completely loose from the container. Easily fixed with some glue, but all the jostling crushed up the shadow a bit.

I used it as a base for my eyeshadow. I am using it to help create a base for a cat eye ala Adele. It does not crease and really holds up well.Published 13 days ago by J. Lee
The color is more purple than it looks in the picture however, it is easy to apply and looks great. I would definitely recommend using a primer if you want it to pop more.Published 17 days ago by Kristin Beaston

This is perfect for someone who is always using black eyeshadow. I hate using up all the black shadow from the sets I have so this perfect. I haven't even hit pan on it yet.Published 29 days ago by Natalie
