I have not run it for much time and can't speak to the fan noise other than it didn't seem to too loud.

Not fully Modular, but the cables that are built into the unit are almost all used.

Pros:
1. Quiet, can't hear its fan over case fans and CPU water cooler radiator fans.
2. Partially modular, sparing space inside case
3. High quality, can feel the weight of solid components when holding in hands
4. Capable of supplying power for Dual graphics card (SLI/Cross-Fire) and dual CPU motherboard.

Cons:
1. Only partially modular, meaning there usually will be unused, nondetachable power cables left in case.

For those of us who tweak or reconfigure our PC's as often as we change our clothes (assuming that the average computer geek changes his or her clothes everyday, +/- one day), a modular power supply is a must. I have owned both an OCZ modular power supply and this NZXT 650W power supply, and overall I am becoming a fan of NZXT over OCZ products for a number of reasons - but in this specific instance it's the quality of the product.

Being, from what I understand, a rebranded Seasonic product, NZXT has taken the steps to ensure that the quality of this item is top-notch. Seasonic is arguably the best manufacturer of power supplies, and this product shows it in both the build quality and the fact that the capacitors are sourced from higher-end Japanese manufacturers. 650W is more than adequate for a discrete video and audio card application with a 125W processor, BD-R/W drive, a 64GB SSD, and a 3TB WD HDD. I've had no issues on my system with the above listed components.

The Bronze / 80% efficiency listing is a strong incentive to purchase this product - from what I can tell even at a 20% load this PSU is running at more than 80% efficiency and meeting the standard. This is wonderful as often I am not gaming and more often than not I'm just web browsing or doing simple coding / word processing / excel file manipulation. These uses cause very light draw on most of the discrete accessorial components.

The power cords - the modular power cords - are fantastic from NZXT. They are very thin and not the typical wound or bundled-wire variety - they are laid next to each other and are very thin. Take a look at the images - they are very clean and allow for cable management that maximizes airflow througout most cases.

This product has yet to disappoint. Although it's only partially modular, it's a much higher quality PSU then others I've owned.

Hmmmmm.... this was a solid buy and I cant not say enough about the fact that is modular. It made the built so easy. The cables are of great quality and I got enough juice to put more into my built. Very satisfied with this product!

This P/S was easy to install, it is partially modular but the cables that are not modular are cables that are used in most if not all builds. I have not run it for much time and can't speak to the fan noise other than it didn't seem to too loud. I also can't speak to the longevity of the product but it seemed to work fine for the few minutes it was on. I do like the cables, they come in a nice white tie pull string bag, But I do not see the point of having extra jumpered connector on the PCI-E cables as they just get in the way when you plug them in, I believe that the spec for video cards requires two cables or they would only have one connector and not two. I was considering cutting the extra one off, but then thought better of it and used the tie-wraps to tie them down.

I had my PC built from ibuypower. And not knowing anything about computers, I put all of the money into the processor and GPU, while getting the cheapest possible power supply. BAD IDEA. A bad power supply can lead to random parts just cutting out, from the USB, to the GPU, to a hard drive crash. Suddenly after 5 minutes of the mouse cutting out you get the blue screen of death and you and all of your PC building friends are stumped. This power supply was recommended by several people and it is sturdy as a rock. Not fully Modular, but the cables that are built into the unit are almost all used. Great for saving space in your chassis.

The title says that is is a Modular PSU. It is not. However, it IS semi-modular. I was really looking for a fully modular power supply, but since it isn't quite what the title states I'm going to end up with a few unused cords cluttering up my case. Slightly upset on that one.
