Customer Reviews

This case is huge and very well made with great airflow.

As a system builder, I've gone through a lot of cases, but this one is, by far, one of the absolute best cases I've ever come across.
George Walker
The plastic opening also scratches very easily, so please be careful what cloth you use to clean it.

This might be a bit long, so bear with me. I am going to try and go over all of the "highlights" of the case, the pro's/con's, possible configurations, etc, and of course review the product.

BACKGROUND
I have been building my own PC's for ~10 years, although it's been a long time since I built a water cooled PC, in fact the last time I built one, there were all of 3-4 "PC Cooling Radiators" available and 99% of people used Heater Cores from cars! Unfortunately, "real life" got in the way of my beloved hobby, as it tends to do, and I had gone a few years without building a new computer for myself; sure, I had done a few builds for friends, but it's just not the same. So, I decided it was time for a new machine, and I had been saving money and watching tech "trends", and then in May of this year (May '12), I started to buy parts. The goals for this build were to create a system that has a tremendous amount of flexibility and upgrade potential, the longest possible lifespan, high overclock potential, very cool running, and of course aesthetically "pleasing"; I am expecting to end up with 3-4 GPU's in the build before I do anything new.
Initially, I had planned on going with Ivy Bridge and Z77, specifically the 3770K and Asus Maximus V Formula/Extreme, but I was quite underwhelmed by its performance upon release and had become sick of waiting for the Maximus V boards, much less with no real news or even a realistic estimated date of release!

This is a gorgeous machine, but not only because of its physical aesthetics. No no, that would be far too simple. The Switch 810 just "gets it". After years of building computers I have never had such an easy time getting all of my components to fit comfortably and play nicely together inside a computer chassis.

NZXT goes above and beyond the call of duty with really clever inventions like the changeable top grill, swiveling internal fans to better cool GPUs, LED lights for the back I/O plate AND expansion slots, as well as dust filters that are A DREAM to remove... with just a simple click or two.

The case is user friendly and yet caters to enthusiasts. If you have the hardware to fill this thing up, go right ahead. You won't regret it.

My rig at present:

Intel Core i7-3930K
Corsair H80 Liquid CPU Cooler (closed loop)
Sabertooth X79 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RAM: 32GB at 1600mhz
GPU: EVGA 560ti
HDD: WD Caviar Black 500GB first backup drive
HDD: WD Caviar Black 500GB backup to backup main drive
HDD: WD Caviar Green 2TB storage drive
SSD: Samsung 830 series (128GB)
PSU: Corsair AX850 Gold Series

For a comprehensive review that is much too long to post on here see overclockers.com/nzxt-switch-810-black

It has massive amounts of room inside to easily fit all of my watercooling gear. I have a 3x120 blackice gtx360 radiator up top with GT AP-14 fans in push/pull and a swifttech 2x120 radiator with GT AP-15s in pull on the bottom. My dual pump is located on top of the powersupply with the reservoir located just above the pump. This is cooling my i5 cpu and a AMD 7970 both highly overclocked.

The case comes with 4 140mm fans. I have two of them in the front panel and one on the hard drive cage mount blowing onto my RAM. The front intake fans, bottom intake fans, and powersupply intake all have removable dust filters.

Plenty of cutouts for hiding wires. This build looks very different from my previous builds which had wires all over the place. You hardly see any wires at all.

I half expected my wife to be upset at me for getting a case this large. I received it while she was at work and had it up and running by the time she got home. Instead of a scolding, she said "wow! cool computer!"

This case, is simply awesome! It has got all the space you need for cable management and then some! It has space for eleven fans( 120mm/140mm). I filled every spot it has and used coolermasters 70.5 cfm 120mm fans for intakes and Couger Vortex 64.3 cfm 140's for vents. I have a 320 gb hdd in the front hot swap bay. And yes it really is a hot swap! You can plug in and take out while system is running! The power light on the top of the case isn't too bright and is actually a nice subtle white. The front I/o is hidden behind a a flip up panel and has dual usb 2.0 and dual usb 3.0 as well as an sd card reader and your headphone/mic jacks and a little switch for rea i/o lighting! Side panel window is great, big and clear. Easily shows off the guts of your rig. All intakes are filtered and those just pop off with a simple push. The psu mounts on the bottom and even that has a pop out filter. My only small complaint is the rather weak stock 140mm fans that nzxt uses in this case, but other then that it is a great gaming case with great options for cable routing and air or watercooling solutions. GET IT!
