5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album, December 4, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Na Krzywy Ryj (Audio CD)
I am just getting into my native Polish rock. I bought this album and even though it's subdued all the songs are just awesome, makes me want to get her previous 2 albums.

Edyta is my star because I am her cousin. My favorite color is blue and light green. I told you this because I want you to see if they are your favorite colors too?

4.0 out of 5 stars Her best album, March 16, 2005

This review is from: Na Krzywy Ryj (Audio CD)
While "Dziecko" isn't necessarily my favorite Edyta Bartosiewicz album, it is undoubtedly her best, musically speaking. Every song is a gem. Her trademark guitar riffs are there, but not as intense as in Szok 'n' Show, or Sen. Wodospady is probably my favorite album, but I think its best songs are an extension of Dziecko.

Dziecko is much more subdued, and almost meloncholy. Everything moves slowly, and it takes a while for the songs to unfold. But they are exquisite, each with many layers. Her melodies are beautiful, and surrounded with inventive guitar soundscapes. At times, she turns up the intensity to Szok'n'Show levels, but it's her restraint on the majority of the album that makes those few bursts of emotion all the more poignant.

She sings a few tracks in English, but as always, they pale in comparison to the songs in her native Polish. While Dziecko is her most mature and thought-provoking work, any listener would do well to purchase the two preceding albums, as well as Wodospady, which followed.
