Keimzeit - A diamond in the rough, November 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Nachtvorstellung Live (Audio CD)
I feel very fortunate to have found this group. I found their first album by using Amazon's search abilities, I was looking for new german music and typed in different german words with the pull down selected to song titles. Keimzeit's first album is called "Irrenhaus", I wasn't sure if I liked it at first because it's so different then anything else I've ever listened to, it's a very cool sound, mellow with a real groove to it, some of it almost sounds like a jazz style but I've never liked jazz before...
Be prepared for something new, they have very clever lyrics, one of their songs is called "Hofnarr" witch translates to "Court jester" and the song describes how he is just a jester in her kingdom, I love it, the german language is a very visual language.
To tell which songs are my favorites is difficult, I really like them all. There is a song called "Nathalie" that is really growing on me, it has a real Russian sound to it and it's fun to hear the audience sing along.
Their first album "Irrenhaus" comes with the lyrics, this live album probably due to the number of songs, doesn't come with lyrics. This album is dated from 96' and has 17 songs on the first CD and 14 songs on the second CD. There is something really incredible about the second CD, I can't explain it but something about it just makes me feel like all my stress is gone and I find my mind wandering in a very peaceful state.
In short... I highly recommend this album. I am now a "Keimzeit" fan.
