Simplemente lo mejor!,

This review is from: Nadha (Audio CD)
This album tops all others from these guys. Formerly known as CIAO in chile, a children's group, they changed their name to Kudai in 2001, kudai comes from the mapundung word meaning young workers, or kudaw. Nada es igual, Cicatrices, Lejos de aqui, disfraz, and morir de amor are ones to check out. The title Nadha is sanscrit for 'all of ones being' or straight from the heart, sound from deep within the soul. Meaning these songs are sincerely from their heart and made with everything they've got. It is a album you will not regret buying!

There are tons of sell-out directions that music goes in, but with this group, the sell-out mentality was more obvious than usual with their previous CD (2nd album). I can't rightfully rate this CD as less than 5 stars, although I wish I could rate their 1st CD as more than 5 stars. After the departure of Nicole from the group, they went gothic, and their music had sort of a cheap gothic-pop theme to it that was a horrible idea. Although the booklet theme still seems a bit goth, their songs went back to the well-written pop songs, and even though the group has a different member, the songs seem to follow suit with the 1st album. I haven't rated that one yet, but it is probably one of my all-time favorite CDs, which was why I title this review "Redemption!" I had low confidence that they would pull away from the "gothic-pop" idea that made their 2nd CD little more than a reflective frisbee, but they did and this 3rd album would actually still be great even if the 1st one didn't set the tone, and even still as the 2nd one was kind of a stumbling block to fans (speaking for myself). This album actually has a remix of one of the songs from their 2nd CD, and I'll bet you can identify it. It has a poor attempt at gothica, but mixed with a pop sound and there ends up being no distinct chorus in it, and just a bunch of singing on top of each other that ends up chaotic. This 2nd CD is a welcome redemption. The first track starts with a very peaceful strings arrangement, before going into a cheerful sounding (Finally!) song, which we got used to with their 1st (and superb) album. The strings/orchestra beginning kinda tells me, "We're back in status-quo," and gives the kind of dramatic opening that a redeeming CD really should. I picture the group on the stage in darkness, with lights from the stage scanning the audience, who are screaming at the top of their lungs, anticipating the beginning of this new album and what turns out to be... REDEMPTION!
