Best bang for the buck!,

I will echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer in stating that these mics are probably the best cheap microphones you can buy for your home recording setup. I bought into the 3 for the price of 1 deal, and couldn't be happier, and this is coming from a musician who previously only used SM57's and SM58's exclusively in my low rent garage studio.
I personally haven't used them for vocals, but I have used them for mic'ing electric and acoustic instruments with a high level of success. I'm very impressed.

They're no Shure SMS8s, but what they do they do well. The best use I've found for them in my home studio is miking guitar amps in a band practice situation where I'm doing a multitrack soundboard recording. I can mike two combo amps playing in a small area with little if any bleed from the other instruments in the room. The range of these mikes is so limited that they only pick up what is right in front of them, which in this situation is a good thing. I wouldn't want to use these as vocal mikes in a live situation. They are poor when it comes to vocals; you have to get very close to the mike, and it will distort easily. However I did record one vocal this way and it worked to good effect on a track that originally was only supposed to be a scratch vocal; it wound up being the keeper. I sang into one, and recorded my acoustic guitar with another; there was nearly zero bleed between the two. The original idea was just to quickly get an idea down on tape so I didn't forget it the next day, but both tracks were used in the finished product. They work well on kick drums for recording too if you are on a budget. At this price get them, you can't lose.

I was adding karaoke to my mobile DJ rig and needed some mics. These Nady SP-5's were recommended for their low price and decent sound quality. For ten bucks a piece, they sound just fine, and I don't have to worry about someone dropping them. I do wish they had an on/off switch built into them though, but for the price, I can't complain.
