Love the sound.,

This review is from: Nady USB-1C USB Condenser Microphone
I record singing on my computer and this USB plug-in condenser microphone has really strong sound. I love it. I've used it now for over a year and the last couple of months it's starting humming pretty loud. The cord end that attaches into the mic is loose and I have to wiggle it to get rid of the hum. Obviously annoying. Am probably going to have to buy a new mic, not sure which. So I gave this a 4 because it's basically defective but otherwise awesome rich sound. Like I said already, I love it!

Amazing quality for the price. Don't listen to the Mcgee idiot.,
This review is from: Nady USB-1C USB Condenser Microphone
I've used this mic for an amazing two years. I've recently sold it to upgrade myself with something a little more professional (AKG 414). I miss it already. The design has a somewhat modern look. Whenever the microphone is plugged in, a blue light is emitted from inside the mesh. (Extremely awesome looking). The sound quality is excellent for the money. I've recorded a few demos with it, and have been greatly satisfied with the outcome. I highly recommend a pop filter with this baby. It surely isn't immune to the popping sound from saying "P" words. Also, unlike many other cheap USB mics, you can also add a shock mount accessory to the microphone. The other reviewer, "Bonehead Mcgee" sounds as if he had a defective mic (which would have been no problem to fix because Nady gives a free one year warrenty), or he didn't realize you're supposed to crank of the volume on the control panel on your computer settings, and not on the mic or recording program. (For Windows Vista, it would be - Control Panel < Hardware & Sound < Sound < Recording). When you plug in a new microphone, Vista (I don't know about other operating systems) will automatically default the volume to 5 (out of 100). So just be smart and remember that. If you want a professional grade mic for an affordable price, while showing off how incredibly sweet it looks, LOOK NO FURTHER!

Nothing but HEADACHES!!!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nady USB-1C USB Condenser Microphone
I bought this microphone after reading different reviews and I ended up with the fuzzy end of the lollipop! This thing is GARBAGE! I do not know what upsets me more, either the fact that IF YOU ARE NOT SCREAMING INTO THE MICROPHONE FROM FOUR INCHES AWAY then the levels are too low, or the fact that NADY has even crappier support! I sent them three emails and never got a resolution to the problem, or an answer to the e-mails.
I tried the microphone with Adobe Auditions and with Audacity, I also tried it with "Sound Recording" that came with Windows XP, Windows Vista and then Windows 7. Just for giggles, I tried it with Skype and with Logitech Webcam Software. All tests gave me the same result: unusable low levels. The short of it is: Nady USB-1C = HEADACHES!!! I just hope the Blue Snowball performs better than this piece of garbage, because I am getting pretty tired of sponsoring apathetic companies that get away with selling garbage products (stronger language would have been more accurate of how I feel, but I had to "clean it up" so everybody can read it). Update: This time I called Nady's "technical support" (btw, they were neither technical, nor supportive). The genius who answered the phone gave me the WONDERFUL suggestion, "turn up the volume. When we have had that problem, that is what we tell people to do." Oh boy, thank you mister Einstein! Now THAT is an answer coming from someone who is reading a manual of canned answers (I could hear him turn the pages). That answer tells me two things: first, they already know about the problem, and second, they have done nothing to address the problem. I have now come to the conclusion that I was right, NADY products AND technical support is more useless than garbage (at least garbage can be re-cycled, just like the answers that "tech support" spews over the phone).
