Beginning with the earliest known ancestors, Jon Jonson Lvnes and Guri Jrgens-datter, learn how the farm and family progressed through the early generations. Follow sixth generation members Ingeborg Nvra and Erick Olsen as they immigrate to America in 1867 to eventually settle in Lessor Township, Shawano County, Wis-consin. Included are numerous translated letters to and from Norway between Erick and his family and friends. John Nvra, Ingeborg Olsen's oldest brother, and his family immigrate to America in 1861 and settle in Mendota, Minnesota. Back in Norway, Nvra, the family farm, is later taken over by another of Ingeborg's brothers, Torger Nvra, and is passed down through the generations to the present. Ingeborg's sister, Helene Nvra, her husband, Thor Thortensen and their family immigrated to America in 1873 and eventually settled in Shawano County, Wisconsin. About the Author
Rolf H. Erickson is a tenth generation descendant of the earliest known ancestors of the Nvra/Erickson family. A skilled and prolific writer, Rolf made numerous contributions to literature in the fields of library history and biography, genealogy and Norwegian-American history. He co-edited three books and authored over three dozen articles, the most recent of which focused on Norwegian-American art and music in Chicago. Audrey Berner-White, also a tenth generation descendant of the Nvra/Erickson family, shared Rolf's passion for family history. Audrey's course work in genealogy and experience in courthouse research led her to co-author the White family history and provided the foundation of statistical data.
