Even if you aren't Jewish, December 31, 2007

Back in the mid-90's, I worked with a woman who asked me to take a listen to this CD--I was hooked. Klezmer as a music style is upbeat and emotional and no one plays it better than the Shirim Klezmer Orchestra. This CD has several typical Klezmer pieces but also some slower, moving pieces. On the down side, I don't understand Yiddish and my wife has threatened divorce if I play it too often. I bought my two copies directly from the record company (Northeast Records) and the prices listed here seem out of line to me -- perhaps you can find something on Ebay if the CD is out-of-print.
