Really gorgeous bag!, December 4, 2011

Wow- this bag is nice! I have a much larger Nahui Ollin bag that I adore but it's too big to use for everything. If you aren't familiar with these bags, there are a few things you should know. First of all, the Nahui Ollin brand of gum wrapper bags are extremely well made. In the 4 years that I've owned my big bag, I've never had a wrapper come loose, tear or even wrinkle. The material is stiff and very thick. It looks like they layer at least four folded wrappers to achieve the thickness and the inside looks exactly like the outside. This pouchette bag in particular is made from one continuous weave, so there are no seams to split or tear.
Second, these bags seem to be waterproof, both inside and out. I had a water bottle open up inside my bag and the water actually stayed in the bag - didn't even drip through (bad for the contents of my purse, but anyway). Spills and stains just wipe right off. I have put mine through hell and it looks as new as the day I bought it.
Third, these bags are 100% eco-friendly. They are made from defective candy wrappers, gum wrappers and soda bottle labels that would otherwise end up in a landfill. The company also claims that their goods are produced under Fair Trade and Sweatshop free practices in Mexico and that "the sale of every Nahui Ollin item helps support local artisans who rely on this trade to care for their land and their families."
Lastly, these bags are absolutely gorgeous and get tons of compliments. I have had at least a dozen people stop me over the years to ask about the bag. Everyone who sees it wants to know how to get one. (Many ask if I made it myself, LOL).
This pouchette is very decent sized and holds a ton of stuff. It has a slim pocket in front that runs the whole width of the bag, and is perfect for stashing cash, packs of gum, etc. It has a shiny patent leather flap closure that is two layers thick, lined in suede and closes with a strong magnetic snap. The shoulder strap is detachable and quite long. It is also two layers thick (the underside is smooth suede) and adjustable to three different lengths. These bags also come with their own dustbags for storage. All in all, a great buy for the money. You will not be disappointed and will be able to enjoy this bag for years to come!
