This is the 4th free mp3 sampler from Amazon (that I have seen) to acknowledge the Sxsw multi-industry event in Austin TX this month.

First thought is I like the pairing of tracks from the same artists gives you two chances to hear the band's sound. Eight tracks means there are only 4 bands.

Tracks 1 & 2 are from Stereo Is A Lie playing Get It Right and I Won't. Really like the singer's voice and the band on both tracks. I Won't was on a Nail free mp3 Sampler from 2010 that is still available and excellent. These tracks are both quality well produced superior Alt. Rock.

Next 2 tracks are from El Da Sensei & The Returners. Knowledge Be The Key (feat. Rakaa Iriscience) raps with valid if unoriginal information. Nu World (Standard Producers Remix) is simple pleasant rap w/no 4 letter words.

Tracks 5 & 6 from New Roman Times so close to a font and so close to brilliant. First song is VCR. Fresh pushy sound that rocks they have to be great live. Another singer I like, band that shines when allowed, lyrics that sound original. Second track Smoke In Your Disguise opens dreamy then kicks it up a notch. Singer is in your face band not to be ignored. Another great Alt. track.

Quick & Easy Boys gotta love the name are a blue grassy/rockabilly/banjo-ee and much more playing band. Cruising along on Breakin' Love starts hollow then the band kicks in with some nice guitar and great noise. Thought I wouldn't like it but I do.
Last track is Take Your Medicine which was featured on a Per Capita Records Amazon free mp3 sampler from last year. I enjoyed the song more on this sampler mostly because the previous track warmed me to their sound. A little different nevertheless great Alt. Rock-ish sound.

Good stuff. I usually don't download whole albums even if they are free, but this one has some choice songs. Thanks!
