The Band of the 70's,
By Ahmed Chronwell (Washington DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Naima - Recorded Live at Boomer's NYC (Audio CD)
This band features guys who had played with 60's trailblazers such as Silver, Mingus, Blakey, and Cannonball creating vibrant and energetic music of their own in Ford-era New York City. Cliff Jordan jois the trio on a few numbers and possesses a powerful sound. In my humble opinion, this band is the best quartet that assembled to play straight ahead jazz in the 1970's in the States. For a low price, 32 Jazz gives them to you live and uncut.
