I have been waxing for years, and it does take years to realllllly get down the art of waxing yourself. I have tried a large number of waxes.....from cold to hot, and have found that Nair Microwavable Wax, is a complete package with everything you need to perform the job. It heats up the easiest, cools down the slowest, takes the most hair off, and being water soluble is the easiest to get rid of that sticky feeling you are left with after waxing, as well as being able to get it off of anything you may drip it on......oh, and it smells yummy !! I was lost, trying to find it in stores (and I am down to two boxes of it, I had found on sale years ago and luckily bought about 7 of them !!)....before I ran out and didnt have any to use, I checked here, and not only found it, but at a FANTASTIC price. They are $10.50 plus s/h for one box on the Nair website, and here I paid about $15 for two boxes, with free shipping, having it sent regularly. The good part about waxing, is that it comes back thinner (having to reform and push through your skin) and lighter, and you will find lovely bald spots where there will never be another hair again woohoo !! My armpits have a thin little line down the middle of them, and it continues to get smaller. Girls out there that found it didnt work for them, keep on doing it. You will find, for all intents and purposes, that it is not the product, but the user of the product, that cant make this stuff work. It literally took me a few years to be good at it, and many years to start learning little tricks and ways of pulling the skin to assist in the release of the hair, as well as which consistency works best for the specific area you are waxing. You will find that you use far less sheets, as you get better at the job, and will be left with extras for your next box (I used to have to buy extras, but if that happens, dont be alarmed, just know that as your "talent" increases, the ripping sheets will decrease). I love this wax, and will continue to have it delivered, until I no longer have hair anywhere that I dont want it !! :-)

-stiffens quickly even though still hot (will need to reheat)
-doesn't get out coarser hair

Overall I would say that this product decently works. I'm a beginning self-waxer and this was easy to navigate with no mess. I only had 1 minor issue with this wax (which I kind of anticipated but wanted to try this anyway). Because it is sugar based I didn't feel like it harden enough to really "trap" coarse hair. I have a small amount stubborn, thick hair and none of it really came off. If you have coarser hair I would recommend using a harder wax than any of the sugar or honey varieties.

The product works wonderfully on normal hair. And I love that it is water soluble. It makes for effortless clean up on your body (sticky fingers included) and on any hardware spills. Also if you need more strips (which is doubtful because they give you more than enough) you can just wash out the used ones and air dry them.

have been using this product for few years now. i have tried others as well like sally hansen's wax etc but this one works the best. it is very easy to use. i would highly recommend this wax!

I have tried so many different hair removal products and devices and this is the best! It removes all the hair the first time and washes up with plain water. No Mess! It comes with alot of cloths and I just throw each one in a bowl of water as I use them and then they just rinse clean and can be reused. I also had alot less pain with this stuff because it doesn't grab your skin at all, just the hair.

I was very excited to order this product. I read the directions carefully and tried several times, but it did not remove one hair. I was explained by my daughter that Nair products seem to work for people with fine hair but not for women w/coarse hair. I guess my italian decent is to blame. Do not waste your dollars if you know you have this hair type. What's a real bummer is that I had to buy the double pack. I hope this review saves someone the disappointment and the money!

I have been using this exact product for over ten years, starting when it used to appear in the roll on wax applicators. Sadly, those are no longer made. So, for the 1 star ratings, I can understand why it is frustrating to apply the wax directly out of the jar with the little useless tongue dispenser type applicator. You NEED an APPLICATOR to do this effectively! I did save one old Nair roll on applicator (or you can search for another brand) and use it with this jar. Heat jar in microwave for 20-30 seconds and pour into the applicator. Roll wax on & pull off quickly with strips. It is the only way to apply wax in a thin hot layer in order for the strip to grip the hairs! And it easily washes off with water unlike other waxes - no mess! This really is the best wax as I have tried countless others once the applicator was discontinued. Good luck!

Does not work. Do not waste your money, its super sticky and messy and it barely gripped the hair, i had to end up shaving. Im never using this again.

-Heats up VERY quickly and maintains heat nicely
-Smells divine
-Did not make me break out, which is very surprising!
-Very little pain!
-Washes off nicely

I used this wax on my chin and my upper lip. It works phenomenally! I am a newbie at self-waxing, but I got the hang of it very quickly.
I want to try my bikini area, but I think will shave it first, and then try once the hair grows in a little.
It's too long for wax (even though it's not all that long), and I don't want to trim it.

I recommend this wax!

UPDATE:
After I wrote this review I did my friend's lower back. She has a patch of dark hair and this wax worked like PERFECTION!
Then, I did both of my arms (myself, I might add) and it worked so well!
I am so pleased with this wax. I didn't think it would work this well, especially after trying Gigi Hard Wax, which did not work for my bikini area at all.
I am anxious to try my legs and armpits when the hair gets long enough!

TIPS:
-Make sure the wax is warm enough to spread easily.

-Make sure your hair is long enough to indeed be waxed.

-LESS is MORE!- You really only need a SUPER thin layer, otherwise the when you pull the wax strip, nothing will come off and you'll need to keep applying strips until the wax is thin enough to pull hair up with it.
It didn't take long to realize this as I was working, but I believe that may be what some others were doing wrong to give this wax a lower rating. It really only takes a little tiny bit.

-When applying the wax to skin, apply a thin layer. Then scrape the applicator stick on the sides of the wax container to get all the wax off the applicator. Then go back to the wax you applied and, at a 45 degree angle, run the applicator along the wax to pick up any excess wax. This helps to ensure the wax is thin enough.

-If the wax is not warm enough it may hurt to spread in large areas. I found that doing large sections of my arm the wax needed to be really warm. It was not uncomfortable, though. Kind of like a really warm shower.

UPDATE 2:
Sadly, this does not work at all on coarse hair.
I lowered my rating accordingly, and I may return.
Doesn't not work as advertised.

I have little hair on my legs and most of them are white, but I've been getting some darker ones lately after shaving so I decided to wax. since I didn't want to spend $40 for my barely-hairy legs I decided to try this one. it worked like magic right the first time! the late who does brazilian for me showed me how to do it so I think that's why it was easier for me the first time. good luck!

This wax is water soluble which means you dont have to use a wax off. Its got a great fragrance and is VERY effective. I recommend it to anyone who wants to wax at home.
