Highs and mids and lows are enjoyable.

In closing, if you find one of these little jewels and appreciate good sound from a small box, then BUY!

The SoundFreaq SoundKick has a slightly smoother (wood cabinet sound) full sound range.

Here is my take of the Nakamichi ShockWave Speaker B-02. Did not get it from Amazon, but from the local Sears with a 30 day return policy, which I don’t plan to return it. This is a really good speaker. This has most of the sound quality of the $300 Big JamBox and sounds better than the $300 Bose. It looks to have the same driver as my SoundFreaq SoundKick. The difference is that the ShockWave has a passive radiator (JamBox design), as opposed to the SoundKick being a sound chamber/port (Bose design). The SoundFreaq SoundKick has a slightly smoother (wood cabinet sound) full sound range. The Nakamichi ShockWave has a little more punch and a full sound range. It can go quite loud and just touches the point of distortion, so it is usable for most of the volume range (similar to the SoundFreaq).

I enjoy the Nakamichi ShockWave as this is the speaker that I take out of the home as it has more volume and punch. For in the house listening, I tend to go back to my SoundFreaq SoundKick. Both of these speakers share the traits of being quite even over its tonal range and having very up front open vocals. They also have the passive radiator or port being forward facing, so the bass is not lost and being focused somewhere. They do not waste the bass by vibrating the enclosure excessively. And the great part, these speakers can be found for under $100 and they sound like $200 plus speakers. They sound a heck of a lot better than the $50 speakers. Give them a try.

Brought this one at local kmart with the full intention of returning it after i test it out. it is not the Bose mini but hell, close enough. for the price of a Bose mini, I could buy two of these and have afull stereo affect. Awesome! Just plain awesome. Couldn't bring myself to return it.

Low price doesn't mean poor audiophile quality!

This thing is a beast. Portable cabinet contains three speakers behind a sturdy grill, they look like 2x 1.5-2" speakers round with a 1.5-2" x 3 oblong speaker, presumably for the bass. Highs and mids and lows are enjoyable. I imagine there must be some electronics adjusting the sound coming in to maximize for the speakers specs.

Connectivity is easy. I would have listed 4 stars with portability as a consideration but I simply cant. Its sound and footprint and battery life on board is well worth it.

I use it as a portable speaker but also bring it around the kitchen and around the home. Used it today for a camping trip and needed to turn it down to be able to hear the company. I've put many genres of music against it and have not come up with any gripes yet. Acoustic, world music and rock are crisp.

If I were to conjecture this product is really going to set the price/performance ratio particularly a challenge to compete with in terms of power, clarity and features.

Mini USB charged. Battery is generous. BT connectivity is very friendly. audio signals indicate connection. 3.5 mm connectivity as expected Built in microphone to take calls. Mind you this is about convenience and am not complaining. One thing I do like is a physical sliding power button.

In short I didn't expect this performance. I just didn't want to shell out for a name for the specifications I was searching out. There are of course better devices but from my sampling so far it was an easy choice.

I picked one up from a local retailer without knowing much about the Nakamichi brand blue-tooth speaker. Must admit, I had low expectations and was planing to return it for a full refund before even leaving the store parking lot. Unpackaged the speaker, noticed the lithium battery had some charge, so I connected my Galaxy S3, pulled up one of my favorite jazz files and was completely
blow away by the sound quality and volume. At this point, I decided to march back into the store, approach the sales clerk and DEMAND that he sale me another fantastic Nakamichi Shockwave Bluetooth speaker so I could set up a left/right stereo format. In closing, if you find one of these little jewels and appreciate good sound from a small box, then BUY! BUY! BUY!
