5.0 out of 5 stars Deborah's best!
This Deborah's best song she has ever written! I love it! Please ignore the previous review! She or he missed the point that "being naked" in the song is about being open and honest about your feelings and not about not having clothes on! Its a great song and worth your money!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not strong enough to bring her back to former glory
I loved Debbie Gibson during her teen years. Her first album was hailed because she was so unlike many of the young Madonna Wanna-Be's of that period because she actually wrote many of her songs and played piano. She even recorded with Billy Joel. Her 2nd album did well, but cynical critics started to gag a little on the squeaky clean "Electric Youth" image. After...

4.0 out of 5 stars IT'S NOT FOR SHOW, BUT FOR REAL!!, September 13, 2005
This review is from: Naked (Audio CD)
so, she posed. she's hot, why not. our country is a little messed up, but i don't think that posing nude is really resorting to anything... her body her choice... we love the music though, right? so... on with it.

okay, firstly... the guitar sliding during the verses is hot. i really like the sound. her imagery and lyrics are fabulous as always. her voice sounds good. i wonder sometimes if she's just too creative for the record companies? verse chorus, verse, repeate chorus. she's got the formula, but she insists on giving more. she's been around for a while, keep it in mind. she's exploring still. and she stays quite true to herself in her songwriting, evolving an already close to perfect talent.

i did hear the news today that the world is ending, and that's why i am saying what's on my mind.

i anticipate the album. i hope she keeps the sound, i'm looking for a follow up to "deborah" or "moonchild." MYOB didn't really do it for me - though it was good. she clearly can do better.

she's good. you can't tell me she's not. i'm done listening. i've had enough examples. she's a good artist. that's it, that's all there is to say. she does well at what she does. end of story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ok what is going on here????, May 24, 2005
This review is from: Naked (Audio CD)
This song is one of her best tracks to date....But the sad part is playboy and this track have done nothing to help deborah get to a place where a larger group of people can hear her grown up....My thought is Ms Gibson needs to seek help with David Foster or someone who can show her which way to go without selling out what myself and other true fans KNOW is that Deborah Gibson is the best. Buy the cd and play it and be proud to be naked....Bare all your souls and hearts like she does in this song. The song is pure DG. Now where is a new cd????

Question: Why do the media, and people in general, have Deborah stuck in a time warp? (Not even Tiffany has to go through this.)

She is no longer the 16 year-old girl singing "Only In My Dreams" and long gone are the days of "Electric Youth." What will it take to get people to see that she is a 35 year-old woman whose music and producing have grown considerably over the years?

As a dedicated Deborah fan (she'll always be Debbie to me), it took me a long time to digest the fact that she wasn't going to sound like "Out of the Blue" or "Electric Youth." Seeing that she's only 5 years away from 40 reinforces that point.

I'm not crazy that Debbie has bared all for Playboy but, hey, that's her business. Don't like it? Don't buy the magazine. (I know I won't.)

I'm glad to see Debbie putting out new music. Her fans will buy it and love it just like we have been all these years.

Any young woman wanting to get into music should use Debbie as their role model: She has been in full control of her music career - from writing to producing and everything else in between - since she was 15 years old.

Record company creation she was not and will never be!

5.0 out of 5 stars Naked and Ready To Turn The Whole Thing Over, March 11, 2005

An AMAZING song from a truly AMAZING artist. Unlike so many "artists" out there today, Deborah Gibson has consistently made fantastic music. She has written and produced her own material from the start, and is still recording classics almost twenty years later. She has remained an inspiration to her dedicated fan base, and has NEVER disappointed. This song takes that to the next level. The vocals...Hypnotic. The arrangement...Perfection. This song has *number one hit single* written all over it. Radio would be foolish not to give a song like this a chance in an age of crappy repetitive hip hop. Come on-Its time to "turn the whole thing over" and give the ORIGINAL princess of pop another chance at success!

5.0 out of 5 stars FAN TAS TIC even in Scotland !, March 9, 2005
This review is from: Naked (Audio CD)
This is the first release from Deborah in ages and it is a great song. It is not offensive in the least. The only thing I was dissappointed about was expecting 2 tracks onthe CD but only getting 1 ! But its still worth having !

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Deborah Classic!!!, March 8, 2005
This review is from: Naked (Audio CD)
This song really is an excellent track. The chord progressions are excellent in the verse while the chorus stays in the classic I-vi-IV-V7 progression. I hope that when the new album comes out that it shows she's been experimenting with new chord progressions and melodic harmonies. All-in-all, this is a guilty pleasure track and I just enjoy it. It's worth the money in my opinion.

This is a great song from Deborah Gibson. Although I don't understand why the other reviewer was offended due to the lyrics. Hi, guess what, maybe this isn't a song for teens, why would you assume that it is? Deborah is and adult making grown up music now, kind of makes your argument silly. Anyway, great song, very fun and free and strong. It's all there, wonderful vocals, great piano, sure to be classic Deborah. Keep up the great work. Everyone open your mind and give the music a chance, it is well worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the purchase, April 27, 2008

While I wouldn't call "Naked" a groundbreaking song or her best song ever, it is well worth purchasing. Over Deborah's 20+ years recording music, she has played around and experimented with various sounds and styles. "Naked" is a pleasant addition to her cateloge. "Naked" sounds earthy and raw and is sung with sincerity and conviction. While I think that technically Deborah's a better broadway singer than pop singer, it''s her conviction when singing the pop songs that make her pop music so great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the album, May 13, 2005

I love this song, and I hope a full album comes out soon. Deborah is an extraordinarily talented singer/songwriter. I'm glad to see her exploring her fun/sexy side. The cover art of her "Mind Body Soul" album, for instance, is one of the sexiest images I've ever seen.
