This review is from: The Naked Desk: Everything you need to strip away clutter, save time & get things done. (Paperback)
The difference between clutter and organization has to do with our habits and our systems. This book really inspired me to let go of old habits and old possessions and develop new systems of organization. There were plenty of ideas and real life eamples to follow. I would recommend this book to anybody.

Reading THE NAKED DESK made me realize that a cluttered desk is both the root and result of larger organizational problems, but ones that are surprisingly easy to solve. Now I know WHY I used to clean my desk one day only to find it a mess two weeks later -- and I've cured the problem with the eye-opening tips from this book. The ideas and solutions are laid out very clearly; it actually makes for a fun read. I only wish it had been available years ago, I'd have saved myself so much time and energy. HIGHLY recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy step-by-step help for getting organized, February 17, 2007
This review is from: The Naked Desk: Everything you need to strip away clutter, save time & get things done. (Paperback)
I like this book for it's easy to read information. It's like a how-to manual with nicely bulleted points and step-by-step directions for getting from a chaotic office (and life) to a more organized one. It also goes deeper than other books on this subject that I've read. Rather than merely treating the symptoms, Brenner delves into the "why" of disorganizational habits. I highly recommend this book to anybody who wants to declutter his/her office and never go back again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is this about my desk?, March 3, 2007
This review is from: The Naked Desk: Everything you need to strip away clutter, save time & get things done. (Paperback)
After reading Sue Brenner's book "the naked desk" I looked at my own desk and shouted an internal scream. Did she have a 6th sense that she knew that she was talking about "our" desk? My husband who never obsesses as much as I do just said that he was "lamenting the laminate." I said, "What laminate?"

My standard line is that I accumulate a lot of very important pieces of paper and I will "file" them on top of my desk until I get to them (two months later). I am the queen of procrastination and not proud of it. It is compounded by the fact that my husband works from home and on a daily basis has pilesw of "important" papers.

We took Susie's advice and took one pile at a time. We filed and made new files. We thought about how to name the files so that we would remember them. With Sue's practical advice we went through the desk and "voila" we finally found the laminate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, practical, easy to read, February 7, 2007
This review is from: The Naked Desk: Everything you need to strip away clutter, save time & get things done. (Paperback)
Sue Brenner's book is as uncluttered as we would all like our desks to be. Her tips and suggestions for clearing clutter are easy to digest in small bites, so you can work on your organization issues step by step instead of having to tackle them all at once. I found it very useful in finding simple strategies for dealing with my perpetually cluttered office.
