I purchased this item in 1/08. IMDB lists the movie at 84 minutes; my copy ran 83 minutes, 45 seconds, including end credits. I recalled several scenes from the original (back in the good ol' Cinemax days) and they were intact. Five stars for including the whole thing, and for the content being what it is supposed to be: a spoof of noir films with a softcore twist.

This movie is funny and hot. The women are beautiful, especially Ms. Donatacci-Grammar. The story and comedy are also quite good considering the genre. Maybe not worth the...price tag, but a must see.

I don't know how much Jim Gardiner paid the director to play the lead actor in this movie; but, however much it was was worth it.
Jim plays Sam Drake, a detective hired by the wife who's (not really) worried about the safety of her one-foot-in-the-grave husband.
He goes to the home to find wife, hubby, son, daughter-in-law, nurse, chauffer, and maid all anxiously awaiting, I mean, dreading the old man's death.
Outside of Key To Sex, this b-movie has the best sex scene actresses in it you could want: Julia Parton (the daughter-in-law), Camille Donatacci (the nurse), Taylor St. Claire (the wife.. no acting talent but a great body), and Carolyn Renee-Smith (the nymphomaniac maid). My personal favorite of the four was Julia. The shocker is that it's a b-movie with an actual working plot. The writers of this movie actually graduated high school. At least, it seems that way. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, a first for a Private Screenings produced movie.
Nothing for dvd bonuses but the movie is good enough on its own.
For the b-movie/skinemax lovers, it's a must have for your collection.

A GOOD SPOOF ON OLD TIME "WHO DONE IT MYSTERY'S. CAMILLE DONATACCI'S ROLL AS ANNIE O'SHEA WAS PARTICULARLY COMEDIC. SHE USED HER COMEDY ABILITY'S (PROBABLY ASSISTED BY HER HUSBAND KELSEY GRAMMER)AND HER EXQUISITE FIGURE TO PULL THE MOVIE OUT OF THE MERE "R" CATAGORY. NICE JOB CAMILLE!

"Time to investigate deeper", is one of the wackiest quotes in this want to be soft core porn the Naked Detective.

Having the opportunity to see this first on HBO, I can't still stop laughing at the movie that shows us viewers a detective that is pulled into a mansion to investigate mysterious murders. Of course there is money involved, and what else but sexy women. Yet you cant turn the tv off once you start watching it. It's that fun.

What seems to be is that the makers aimed to make this a soft core porn, but you watch the movie laughing at the bad actors and the simple plot. This is a movie for you and your drinking buds or when your feeling down, and you need a good laugh!

I own an Unrated copy of this movie on VHS and have been waiting a long time for it to come out on DVD. Unfortunately the DVD version that was released was rated R. I think most people know that the Unrated version of a movie is always preferable to the R - rated version.I would love to have this movie on DVD but after seeing the Unrated version, I would never buy the R - rated version.
This movie lives up to its title because the private detective in it does the horizontal mambo with all four of the women in the movie. And they are all good looking women. At the time this movie was made, the actress who plays the nurse was married in real life to Kelsey Grammer (TV's Frasier).
This movie will never come close to making the AFI top 100. The plot is thin at best and the acting is on the minus side of "Marginal", so the only reason to watch it is for the "skin", which I would guess is mostly covered up in this R - rated version.
I would give the Unrated version of this movie 5 stars, for the nudity and the likeable characters who are fun to watch.
I am giving this R - rated version 1 star, but in all fairness I have to admit that I haven't seen the R - rated version, so you can "...pay your money and take your chance."
