Naked Leader,
By "mhumph3s" (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Naked Leader: The True Paths to Success Are Finally Revealed (Paperback)
This is the only business book that I have read from cover to cover and then gone back to use as a reference. The format of the book, life journeys and short sharp chapters keep you wanting more and reading on to find the next nugget. This book cuts through the jargon and its easy to read language make it accessible to all. You don't have to be a CEO to benefit from this book, it demonstrates that we can all be better leaders and provides guidance on how to make the most of each day and each situation. Even if you are not a line manager, if you work in a team or interact with others in the course of your work then you will benefit from reading this book. As well as providing some life changing guidence there are also some laugh out load moments along the way. In my experience this is unlike other business books in that you want to keep reading. Buy it for yourself and your best friend.

Jargon-free EXCELLENCE!!!,

This review is from: The Naked Leader: The True Paths to Success Are Finally Revealed (Paperback)
I've read many books but nothing quite as unique as this one - what makes it so pleasant reading is that David strips all the jargon away and puts things simply. If you think about it, a lot of jargons actually made simple things more complex. The simplicity found in this book gives an opportunity for anyone to take on the mantle of a leader - and not be afraid of it. Everything can be simplified to childlike simplicity - when everyone understands it, everyone can act on it. This is one book you can be assured you can act on because you don't need a dictionary (or consultant) to explain the jargon to you!
This book is worth getting - you'll be convinced that leadership is really not complex. People only make leadership sound complex because they want you to follow their own "brand" of leadership - don't be fooled. I bought this book AFTER I've read a copy borrowed from the library! Fantastic read. Good on ya, David. |
