About the Author

Lee Wood works as design coordinator for Donatella Versace and has worked with "Visionaire" magazine in New York.

...I expected these photographs to be edgier and rougher. It turns out to be fashion magazine-quality stills of a few young models with 3-day stubble. Its only claim to "art" is that he uses a color filter on some of the pictures. Very uninteresting.

This is a beautiful oversize book of mostly color & some black & white photographs of exotic & naked beautiful men. Some of these photographs give you the feeling you are looking at Renaissance paintings. The men are posed in natural surroundings indoors and outdoors. You could say not all of the men are handsome but they all have an erotic & sexual tension to them. I believe that's because Julian Hargreaves has done what other photographers rarely do, and that is to pose his models at different angles with perfect lighting. These are not neatly cropped photos. This lends a style of movement to the whole collection which is so much better that the standard static and rigid photographs of most photographers. The men are not adonis's, just normal guys who are not overly special or beyond attainability. They are slim and athletic.

I liked the look of this book, and especially enjoyed Hargreaves style of photography. It is different and refreshing. I just wish they had included a biography of Julian. I was disappointed there was none. A wonderful addition to any male nude photography collection!

I loved this book, plain and simple. It's not as conventional as the typical male-nude coffee table book. The color images are printed (in many cases) without color correction, and they have a yellowish or greenish cast to them that seems to place them in a different time. Most of the models are european and seem completely un-self-conscious, looking natural and beautiful in front of the lens. The settings are interesting and somewhat voyeuristic, but intimate. It's a beautifully-bound book that would look great on any coffee table.
