Book Description

December 1, 1995
With a powerful anointing, Bishop T.D. Jakes challenges us to go below the surface and become completely and honestly vulnerable before God and man. In relationships, in prayer, in ministry--we need to be willing to be open and transparent. Why do we fear? God already knows us, but He cannot heal our hidden hurts unless we expose them to Him. Only then can we be Naked and Not Ashamed!

Book Description

With words that stand the test of time, T.D. Jakes' three books cross denominational lines, racial barriers, and gender biases to reach into the heart of the reader. With the compassion of Jesus Christ, he touches the hidden places of every woman's heart to bring healing to past wounds with the phenomenal best-selling Woman, Thou Art Loosed! With the same intensity he calls all men, women, and children to stop being afraid to reveal what God longs to heal in Naked and Not Ashamed. Only when we drop our masks and facades can we be real before our Lord and others. And with Can You Stand to Be Blessed? T.D. Jakes, a man of many accomplishments and life goals, shares personal insights that will help all people survive the peaks and valleys of daily living out God's call upon their lives. This classics gift set is sure to become a special part of every reader's personal library!

From the Back Cover

"Someone, quick! Call the supper to an end and tell us who you really are beneath your churchy look and your pious posture. Tell us something that makes us comfortable with our own nudity. We have carefully hidden our struggles and paraded only our victories, but the whole country is falling asleep at the parade!"

Be prepared to be challenged by "Naked and Not Ashamed" as you have never been challenged before! Here Bishop T.D. Jakes calls for believers to strip away all layers of superficiality, religious reasonings, and pious pretendings. We need to be real--to be honest before God and man. Our example, Jesus Christ Himself, ministered and died in total openness before us. How can the hurting around us receive help and healing unless we too are "Naked and Not Ashamed?"

5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging and Godly discourse on forgiveness and self love, August 28, 1998

Nothing in my entire 45 years has done as much to free me from the horrible "secrets" I thought I had hidden. To sin is one thing; to remove yourself from God because of the guilt of your sin denies the very essence of why He came, died and rose. Thank you, Bishop Jakes, for helping me to see that even naked, with all of my sins exposed, I am still fearfully and wonderfully made, and deeply loved by God.

I believe that Bishop TD Jakes is one of the most influence minister in this day and time. I offen say if I was in Texas that Bishop Jakes would be my pastor. He has help me out in some many ways. The title of the book alone gave me to courage to stand, by itself "Naked and not ashamed" how many time spiritually and physically I was ashamed about things I did not want to be reveal. But I have learned just by read and listing to Bishop Jakes along with my favor my Pastor how to get over hurt and pain. Thanks Bishop Jakes because of minister such as yourself you have help me as well as other women to get over it and still be save.
