Fabulous Fingerpicking,

I own several of Pete Huttlinger's CDs and have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him perform live on several occasions; Up close and personal. Especially the smaller venues were all a real treat. I highly recommend his CDs as well as his instructional DVDs.

Could be the best fingerstylist,
This review is from: Naked Pop (Audio CD)
I came across this while surfing around Steve Vai's 'Favored Nations' site and bought this blind on the strength of the superlative Tommy Emmanuel also being on the label. I stuck the CD in the player and was immediately blow away by the first track 'Brown bomber'. I'm not sure I've ever heard finger picking quite this fast. This is the only self composition with the others being interpretations of pop hits the best being 'Sir Duke' and the Jackon 5 number. As a fingerstylist Peter Huttlinger is right up there with Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed but could end up being the best of the lot. If 'Brown bomber' is anything to go by, I look forward to an album of self penned tunes.

Amazing Fingerstyle - Covers and Originals,
By
This review is from: Naked Pop (Audio CD)
Peter Huttlinger is easily one of the best, and his amazing talent shines through on this CD. His cover of Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" is an amazing, funky arrangement, while ballads like "Fields of Gold" are lush and full. And all on one guitar.
Personally, I would have preferred he skipped the orchestra versions of three of the songs already on the album. While very pleasing, I would rather he had used the time for more solo acoustic arrangments. Still, this is an awesome CD for any fan of fingerstyle guitar.

Amazing!,

I guess fingers really can move that fast! Like the other gent wrote in his review, I'm in awe that one person can play all the individual notes at one time.I just have to throw this in: When Pete was little, his 1st instrument was the Banjo. Two of his older brothers hid his Banjo in the linen closet for a week or two because Pete was well, just learning. Man...If they could only hear him now!

Naked Pop Recommended,

The style and execution of Pete's performance on this new release is superb. He has combined many of my favorites including a Steely Dan cut that in itself is no small accomplishment. The use of polyphonics produces a full orchestration of tones that is hard to believe that is one personand one guitar. The CD shows why Pete Huttlinger is a National finger style champion. Pete is at the top of the heap and it will clearly be obvious after reviewing this CD. This is a must for acoustic enthusiast. Five Stars

Here's The Reason Pete Is A National Champion Guitarist,
By
This review is from: Naked Pop (Audio CD)
This cd is a must have recording for anyone that enjoys acoustic guitar music. He takes pop tunes like Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" or Sting's "Fields of Gold" and turns them into wonderful instrumental guitar works. If you are a guitar player, you'll be blown away by Pete's version of Steelie Dan's "Jose" and his original tune "Brown Bomber" GREAT STUFF!

Incredible,

Previous to June 2005, I had never heard of Pete Huttlinger. What a gift I was given, when a family member took me to see him in Boise, Idaho. I was thoroughly enchanted by his performance. My favorite from this album is Fields of Gold. He is a truly gifted musician. . . he plays everything from classical, country, irish traditional, rock, pop, the list goes on and on. Watch for one of his newer CD's THE SANTA RITA CONNECTION. . . it is a true work of art!

Incredible Talent!,

Mere words cannot express the talent of Pete Huttlinger on the Naked Pop cd. Keep in mind that he is, almost exclusively, playing every note you hear on the cd, every note, every chord, at one sitting. So when you hear rhythm, bass and melody, just imagine those fingers floating over the strings. The first song on the cd, Brown Bomber, says it all.Pete inserts a passion into his playing; Over the Rainbow sparkles, and Eleanor Rigby will make you want to kiss your dog! So stop reading and go buy this cd - you will be lining up your friends to have them listen to it.

Naked Pop; Pete at his best...,

This CD exemplifies Pete Huttlinger's very well done guitar work at its absolute best. Here, he plays a variety of arrangement types, using some of his many, many chops and fingering styles. The CD also illustrates Pete's amazing versatility. As a long time fan of Pete's, this fine musician never ceases to amaze me. I never tire of listening to his music or seeing him live in concert.

An incredible CD with memorable music that will leave you breathless. Pete Huttlinger won the national fingerpicking championship recently and it's easy to understand that after you hear this. You'll hear classic tunes as you've never heard them before.Pete formerly toured and recorded with John Denver and has recently been gracing the airwaves playing with LeAnn Rimes and SheDaisy. This is your chance to hear his solo work and understand so many other stars want him playing with them. ...If you like great music, this is a must have CD! |
