I own almost ALL Mondo Macabro movies, except the Bollywood and Indonesian Horror titles (ya gotta draw the line somewhere, and the overtly/obviously bad ones are a good place to do so), but this one was the WORST Asian title they`ve to release yet, and "Female Prisoner Caged" was a close runner-up, but had enough low-brow sleaze to rend it an acceptable place on my Exploitation shelf. However, this one fails on all levels- a 'who cares?' storyline, typical (tho not for that time period) fogged-out sex scenes shot from a quarter-mile away, actors and actresses you would never want to see naked, and more nonsense you could care less about. Hideaki Ezumi stars as a powerful marquis named Katsuragawa, whose prostitute mistress bears him twins. As twins are considered a bad omen, they are separated at birth. The marquis raises the boy in his own image, as does the girl s mother - having her work as a prostitute. Nineteen years later, in blissful ignorance, boy and girl meet. What follows is a (NOT SO)blood soaked and (NOT-SO)shocking tale of revenge as the girl seeks to track down and destroy all those she considers ruined her life. Startling(BORING)and(ANYTHING BUT)surreal, the film is a (DON`T BELIEVE A WORD OF THIS) masterpiece now receiving its first ever US release. Sell Points / Extras Features- A powerful drama with political and psychological overtones(DON`T THINK SO), this is one of the most complex and impressive films(ASSUMING YOU`RE A FRIGGIN` RETARD) in our Nikkatsu Studio series(AN OUT AND OUT LIE). Directed with immense style (??) by the award winning Chusei Sone it s packed with surreal scenes and outbursts of shocking bloodshed(MORE LIES). EXTRAS: Documentary on Japanese exploitation cinema(THIS IS TRUE AND THE BEST PART OF IT ALL).ALL THE REST OF THE PRODUCT DETAILS ARE FICTICIOUS. Grab one of their other titles instead- Lord knows there are enough good/great titles from Mondo, but skip this one.
