5.0 out of 5 stars Funny...but sad
This is one of those laugh-out-loud kind of books. The author cleverly lumps politicians into humorous categories and describes each one with biting wit. I went through the book in a couple of evenings. The only downside is that after you've had a chance to digest the content of the book, you can't help but feel a bit of sadness at the current state of affairs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Amusing, but tiring
After reading the book, I concluded the high ratings for this book must have come from friends and relatives of the author. I found it amusing at first but tedious as it went on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hysterical Political Humor, September 19, 2006

I read this book in just a few hours, laughing out loud on almost every page. This book has rounded up all the worst Republicans out there and describes in hilarious detail their more questionable actions. Not only does this book rehash all the funny (and horrifying) deeds of the worst Republicans, it's also sure to add some things you didn't know (but don't want to miss!). The book also includes selections from some of the more illustrious novels our politicians have published, including pages from Newt Gingrich, Lynne Cheney, and Scooter Libby (you have to read the selection from The Apprentice).

All in all, this book will keep you well informed on the all the worst Republicans while making you howl in laughter. MUST READ!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ken Starr couldn't hold a candle..., September 21, 2006
This review is from: Naked Republicans: A Full-frontal Exposure of Right-wing Hypocrisy and Greed (Paperback)
Finally, something that strips it to the core -- and reveals the truth while keeping you laughing the whole way through. Shelly Lewis's "Naked Republicans" not only provided me with the usually suspected but never told insight into the scandels, deception, and filth that lays above and beneath the board of Washington DC but as told with such irreverant wit and laugh out loud humor - it truly provided a much needed antictode to the dismal state of our nation and the people entrusted to run it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Political Almanac on Crack, September 27, 2006
This review is from: Naked Republicans: A Full-frontal Exposure of Right-wing Hypocrisy and Greed (Paperback)
OK, OK the "on crack" suffix may be a bit overused, but trust me when I say this book earns it. I haven't laughed so hard since Stephen Colbert's appearance at the White House Correspondants dinner.

Naked Republicans is hands down the funniest, smartest "Oh no he didn't"-inducing gift I've received this year. I am a fairly well read individual, but there were slime-ball stories in here even I didn't know about. It's not gossip, it's just Republicans revealed.

This book is a quick read-- don't worry, there are pictures!-- but it's worth every penny. Think: the Daily Show "America" book meets the Darwin Awards.

Wow. This book is a winner. I almost peed in my pants, I was laughing so hard. I think even Republicans will find this sharp, smart book funny. Even my grandparents found it relevant and hilarious and right on!
Looking forward to the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Capitol Hill-arious, February 7, 2007
This review is from: Naked Republicans: A Full-frontal Exposure of Right-wing Hypocrisy and Greed (Paperback)
Incredibly funny, well investigated, and delivered spot on! It is hard to believe that the politicians mentioned have actually made such humorous statements - but they have. A great plane read, or anywhere read really.
