5.0 out of 5 stars Sex, Seduction, & Secrets in Savannah!, May 27, 2000

What do you get when you mix together a sexy story line, an exotic Southern city, and a touch of good ol'Voodoo? You get a page-turning, spine-tingling erotic novel, of course!

Natasha Rostova has does it again with another book that's well-written, highly erotic, and hard to put down! She is definitely an author of today's sexiest erotic fiction written for women ...and men too.

`The Naked Truth' is a contemporary story set in steamy Savannah, Georgia. The leading lady, Callie, is a wealthy, but unhappy wife, who leaves her dominating, but amorously aloof husband to explore her unfulfilled sexual fantasies. Her escapades unravel more than just her own dark desires, but uncovers her husband's shadowy past too. From a riverfront pool hall encounter to the twist and turns of sensual `artistic' bondage and cemetery sex add sparks to the erotic chemistry of the fast paced, sexy storyline.

I've been an avid reader of Ms. Rostova's Black Lace titles since her first novel and I thoroughly enjoyed reading `The Naked Truth'. As always, she weaves together a romance-laced plot and many varied sexually situations so smoothly that the story flows very quickly and, yet, is very entertaining and satisfying. Don't be mislead that this novel is strictly a romance, because the sexual combinations in this novel border on the erotic edge of tantalizing taboo!

If you are looking for a quick paced story with lots of sex, seductions, and secrets, then this book is one I highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars A REAL story that sizzles set in a Savannah, May 2, 2001

This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book has it all and more. Our heroine Callie leaves her husband Logan at the beginning of the book to begin an unknown search . Although she enjoyed her life both in and out of the bedroom with her husband, Logan, she decides to leave him because he really wasn't communicating with her.

The book seduces us, the reader, in Callie's search and escapade that includes some of the richest charater descriptions around from; the married,... lasangna cooking sister of Callie; Elanor, the conniving, 'I like knives', treacherous friend and bed-mate of Logan from his past; Tess, the young, flaky, bohemian candle shop owner that treats sex like a gourmet meal to be devoured; Albiona, the 'cafe con leche' with skin as smooth as silk vodoo priestess; and, Adam, the young and gullible assitant to Logan who does not willingly question his more than professional feelings toward his boss Logan....

I really gotta admit that I loved Tess the best as she takes Callie under her wing as confidant and girlfriend. As far as the eroticism is concerned the love... scenes are HOT and cover all the delicious aspect of eroticism, bar none .... and all of it written with incredibly style that FIT into the story ....

Natasha and Nina, our authors, do not suffer from the modern creative maladay popping in gratuitous action to keep the reader interested, and that is why this book absolutely sizzles..... WOW

This is a MUST HAVE book for your little erotic libarary ... Too bad I can only give it 5 stars ...

4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable, sexy story, May 17, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. Unlike many other erotic novels, this actually had a plot, with characters that you come to care about what happens to them. (and the sex scenes are fun too!) I highly recommend this book.

Callie and Logan have been married for 3 years, and Callie is unhappy with the emotional coldness of their relationship. After trying to reach her distant husband, she leaves him and embarks on a voyage of discovery. At first Logan is angry that his wife is out of his control, but then he discovers that being out of control can be pretty enjoyable!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's HOT down South....., May 16, 2000

This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
A sizzling tale of lust and delicious perversion set amidst the moss-draped oaks and genteel institutions of Savannah. Vividly drawn characters, taut conflicts and scorching sex make this well-worth the purchase price. The voudou scenes are particularly well-done and add an extra layer of mystery and heat to this fast-paced tale of...did I mention lust and perversion!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Black Lace Special!, December 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of those books where you know from the first few paragraphs that you can relax - that the author knows what she's doing, and isn't going to let you down. First off, imagine a good romantic novel; then add far steamier sex, much better writing, and characters who aren't made out of cardboard. You should now have a fair idea of whether you will like The Naked Truth or not! Personally I liked it a great deal, and was completely gripped by the time I was one-third into this very engaging story. I would rate it as one of the best Black Lace novels I've read - and I've read plenty!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great escapism and hot, hot, hot!, May 19, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a great book -- well-researched and intelligent withcharacters who are eminently human (a rare thing in erotica). Iespecially liked the voodoo aspect, which gave the story a kind of mysticism, and the chemistry between Logan and Callie is simply sizzling. There is also a good deal of humor, and the sex is downright hot. Bravo!

4.0 out of 5 stars Southern Charm and Bayou Voodoo all in one, October 23, 2000
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
Setting is Savannah, but not like any Savannah I've ever seen. This novel blends the aristocracy of old Savannah with the new age wave that's hitting our nation. Add a great many drops of eroticism and magic and voodoo, and you have THE NAKED TRUTH. Fun sex of all imaginable couplings. You'll be rooting for the happy ending and trying to guess at the mystery behind the stuffy husband's past. An enjoyable novel and highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Naked Truth indeed!, May 31, 2005
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
Having read and loved The Captivation and The Transformation, I had looked forward to reading another novel by Natasha Rostova (pseudonym). The Naked Truth is one of the steamiest and most scorching Black Lace novels out there. The best part is that it has elements of being romantic as well. Carrie decides to leave her husband after several attempts at making things work. Every aspect of their marriage worked fine. He was a good lover and they had decent marriage. But Logan is unable to communicate with Carrie regarding his past and certain inconsistencies in his life that Carrie finds disturbing. So she leaves him and decides to have several of the most delectable exploits I have read in all of erotica...

This novel, like The Captivation, contains a lot of sex scenes. There is a little bit of everything here -- threesomes, group sex, same sex encounters, etc. Each scene is described in ways so palpable that you will need a cold shower or a rump with your mate after you finish reading them. The characters are rich and three-dimensional. Tess is my favorite character by far. Carrie is a good leading protagonist whose feelings regarding her experimentations are a bit more realistic than most erotic novels out there. The story is also engaging. As said earlier, there are romantic aspects in the novel that will make you want to root for the proverbial happy ending made popular by traditional romance novels. And there are several surprises in the book as well -- all of which make quite an engaging story. Once again, the author, whatever his or her name is, has captivated me with her keen storytelling and scorching scenes. This is the best Black Lace novel I have read in quite a long time and I cannot recommend The Naked Truth enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erotic and Romance, July 24, 2002

Lynn Creason (Columbia, TN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read several of the Black Lace books but find most of them lacking the basic element of romance and love. The endings usually leave me with an empty feeling. This book was wonderful to read. You not only got eroticism but a beautiful love story. I just loved the other characters and the funny things some of them said. The sexual scenes were very hot but didn't leave me feeling they were empty with emotion. If you enjoy reading Emma Holly's book then you will love Natasha Rostova's books. Highly recommend.
