The Truth Will Set You Free...Maybe,
This review is from: The Naked Truth (Paperback)
From A Gangster's Girl to Married to The Game and now The Naked Truth, Chunichi brings back Ceazia Devereaux to try for a fresh start to life in Atlanta (ATL). Danielle Stevens, an enemy from her past, was there in ATL, too.Ceazia wanted to get out of the gangster life, and what better way to do it than to find a man that can take care of her. She planned a meeting with a big time Atlanta rapper named Parley, and saw him as her way to gain what she wanted. Ceazia did everything to try to please Parley, down to the best gift a woman could give a man. Would that be enough to keep her from returning to the game, or was she married to the game for life? Danielle was running from her past where she had set up Shawn, the big shot drug dealer who started taking care of her once her man was killed. Though she set up Shawn, and he went to prison, somehow he got out sooner than she expected and found her. He was not the only one looking for her though. With the help of Shawn, this person gets to gain information detrimental to Danielle's future success in her goal to achieve happiness. Danielle was so busy trying to gain success in her career that she was leaving out her fiancé, Richard Anderson, a professional basketball player. To get her attention, he does something that no man would truly ever do. Will all his efforts work or will they go unappreciated? It is clear from the ending of The Naked Truth, this is not the last time we will encounter these two women. Chunichi weaved a twist-filled book, packed with excitement and "oh my goodness" moments. I did not read any of Chunichi's other books, but I truly enjoyed this one, so much so that I would go out and pick up the others. I recommend this book to her previous readers as well as to readers like myself, who enjoy quick reads, filled with non-stop drama. Jennifer Coissiere APOOO BookClub [...]

I hate that I waited a long time for this one only to be disappointed. There are 20 chapters in the book and 5 of them are about Ceazia. The book focused more on Danielle.I read this book yesterday morning and finished that night. The book would have been alright IF we knew it was focused on Danielle only.Chunichi should just let the whole series thing go.The only book I found to be the bomb was A Gangster's Girl.I was a big fan before but now I don't know.

This review is from: The Naked Truth (Paperback)
Making a much needed move from Richmond, VA, where she leaves behind a grueling past that she hasn't being accountable for, Ceazia finds her way to Atlanta,GA. There, she quickly discovers that there's nothing sweeter than becoming a Georgia peach, to get what she wants. Ceazia sets up a chance encounter with Parlay, a big name rapper, who, she believes, has just what it takes to allow her to retire from the game once and for all. For Ceazia, will the end justify means?Danielle, Ceazia's arch-enemy, is close on her heels, making sure that Ceazia doesn't run away from her past. And so Danielle follows her all the way to Atlanta, bound, and determined to make her pay for past sins. But then she gets cought up in the very same web that she weaves. Will Danielle's thirst for revenge against Ceazia take a back seat as someone sets out to destroy her life?

I really liked the first 2 books but this last one really fell off. It was a boring read and the wedding part was the worst because I saw that happen in a movie already. If there is another book to follow I will make sure to read reviews before I spend my money.

Let me just say that Chunichi is one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for her next book. This book was not her best work, the story was Very predictable and familiar. The Ceazia charter is so tired, please move on Chunichi. I know you can do better.

Just like the others have said I waited and look forward to this book, but it was a big disapointment. I thought this book once again would focus on C, but not this time. If you are wanting to learn her fate then not this time either.

I disagree with most readers. I thought Chunichi did a good job. Yes, there were two different stories going on at the same time;however they never came together. I thought Ceazia and Danielle were going to go at it but they didn't. Danielle was the main character and she kept the story going. Danielle was ruthless to say the least. I also liked Angel's character as well.

The naked Truth" by Chunichi, continues the story of Ceazia Deveruex. There is not a whole lot of Ceazia in this book, but it is still a good read. It mainly focuses on Danielle who has relocated to the ATL, and is supposedly after Ceazia, but never makes any real attempts to find her, go figure. Instead it introduces us to Danielle's "men" who include, Dario the fat blob of a lawyer she sleeps with, John a married man, Richard, Danielle's NBA fiancee', and John's wife Angel. Shawn from the previous novels also makes an appearance. Shawn returns to make Danielle pay back his money. And what a tangled web these folks are caught up in.Meanwhile Ceazia is also in the ATL and getting cozy with rapper Parlay trying to "divorce the game" and go legit. But things are too good to be true with Parlay. This book is not as bad as everyone is saying that it is, I do however wish Chunichi would leave the Ceazia character alone and write about a new story, but the way the book ended it seems as if we have not seen the last of Ceazia! This story has lots of drama and freaky sex, Chunichi did a good job, I just want "Ceazia" to be over, LOL!!!!! |
