1.0 out of 5 stars what a boring book!
We didn't finish the book because we found it completely unerotic and asexual. The author tells you for instance to bring safety pins to hold your toga in place and to bring toenail polish because the sand on the beach will wear it off. Wow!!! The stories told are all childish fun, but there's not a single one titillating. Puritan lack of sexuality. Boring.

This review is from: The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty But Nice Guide to Jamaica's Very Adult Resort, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
The author allows you a glimpse into the wacky world of the strangest and most hilarious vacation you could ever imagine (the good). Through her sense of humor and quotes from repeat guests, you will prepare yourself for a holiday to remember. You will have the benefit of knowing the pitfalls of the resort (the bad) and what to do with your inhibitions at check-in (the ugly).

The author's reports of past events lead the reader to expect the outrageous. If you consider your life too dull with few laughs, reading the book will give you oodles of ideas for spicing up your life whether at Hedonism II or maybe in your own abode. The description of games you can play in the hot tub, pool area, bar, beach and vicinity are worth the price of the book alone.

The photos are a riot. Don't miss the tips on what to pack. Learn why loyal guests spend ALL their vacation time in the same resort year... after year... after year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for first-timers or Hedo veterans, September 26, 2001
By

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty But Nice Guide to Jamaica's Very Adult Resort, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
Don't believe the rumors and wild stories reported other places about Hedonism II. In TNTAH2, Chris does a great job of explaining and illustrating the experience of a very different resort in Jamaica. Hedo II is like no other place on earth. If it wasn't for the First Edition book, my wife & I may not have gone there, now we can't wait to get back. Now the Second Edition has even more tips, photos, and great Hedo stories which veterans will find hillarious (or be very jealous!), and the inexperienced will find almost unbelievable. But you can believe it because Chris has "been there, done that" many times and writes without authorization, support or endorsement of Hedo management.

This book will prepare "virgins" for their first trip by giving tips for what to bring, what to expect, and explains who goes to Hedo. Is this the place for me? Do people really.....? Can I really wear THAT? Should I bring.....? These questions are answered, and many others you never thought to ask. Chris is an experienced "repeat offender" at Hedo and tells the true stories, debunks the myths, and gives many tips needed to make the most of your trip. The wife & I read it straight through the minute it arrived at our door, and we review it again everytime we are longing to go again. Whether you are a couple looking to experience some romance, or a single wanting to party for a week, this book will prepare you for a trip to a place that so many repeaters call Home.

5.0 out of 5 stars All you wanted to ask...but were afraid to, May 8, 2003

This review is from: The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty But Nice Guide to Jamaica's Very Adult Resort, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
I have always been curious about what goes on down there. This book answered it all and then some.
From what to pack and how much it will cost to where to even walk, Chris knows Hedo II well. And why shouldn't she...she has been there over 30 times. She even tells you which rooms (by number) to get and which to avoid!
Chris has striven for objectivity and it does show though. However, her personal like of the place also comes through loud and clear.
I am not sure people on the fence like me will be convined to jump up and book a passage to HedoII but that exactly is what I would expect an informative book to be about and this fills the bill very well.
People already on the way there should be helped in avoiding pitfalls and making their time more enjoyable - and that is the moral of the book - leave your inhibitions and clothes behind and come and party.

I found this book to be exactly the information I was looking for. I had read and seen Hedonism listed before but had absolutely no idea what or where it was. This book gave me that information with a very fun perspective. The knowledge that you obtain will help anyone that wants to go there for any reason. It gives you the best times of year to go depending on what your looking for. It gives you details that you would never think about before you got there. For the unexperienced guest of Hedo you have to read this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honest/Funny look at Hedo ll, January 30, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty But Nice Guide to Jamaica's Very Adult Resort, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
This is an honest and hilarious look at the Hedonism II resort in Jamaica. I've done Club Med and was wondering what Hedo would be like. This gave me all the info I could possibly need, maybe more. I still don't know if I'll ever go, though the no-additional-charge Scuba diving is a big draw for me. Also don't know if getting nekkid is for me either, but this seems like a good place to go if you'd like to find out. Chris gives an insider's eye view of the resort, warts and all, that can't be found anywhere else. Her sharp sense of humor and adept observations make you feel as if you were right there with her.
Thanks, Chris, it was a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll keep coming back for more!, October 17, 2002
This review is from: The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty But Nice Guide to Jamaica's Very Adult Resort, 2nd Edition (Paperback)
This book is almost as much fun as being there. Are you even the slightest bit curious? Ever wondered what really goes on down there? Whether you are Hedo-curious, or a "Repeat Offender" there are plenty of great "snapshots" of what really goes on at this Jamaican resort with the highest repeat visitor rate in the Caribbean.
The second edition of this book, with its additional stories, color photos, and real-life tales told by the people that experienced them will provide surprises and laughs as genuine as a week's vacation at the resort itself. Chris' own observations will have you calling out for more, more, more!
This book is a must read for anyone considering a "virgin" trip to Hedo and a must have collector's item for anyone that has been there. Anyone looking for some light-hearted reading will come away with sides that hurt from laughing and a smile that you can't wipe off of your face. This book will make you want to go to go down to Hedo to see for yourself, or to return to relive past experiences. A "must have" coffee table book for better social gatherings. What a conversation piece!
Buy this book. You will read it again and again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for anyone considering a trip to Hedo II, September 26, 2001

This is a fast read and very informative. You can spend days reading and studying a lot of web sites and get much of the information contained here, but this is a great overview of the resort and the people that visit. Chris, having stayed at Hedo II many times, recounts many first hand accounts of the goings on. Far superior to the reports/reviews done by those who only wish to sensationalize some of the activities at Hedo II. I highly recommend this book to any one planning a trip or just curious about what really goes on there.

Chris Santillis book is a must for everyone thinking about a trip to a Hedo superclub. It gives you a lot of information which is essential for a visit to jamaica in general and especially to Hedo II / III. But much more important: reading this book you feel like you have been there a lot of times, you can feel the spirit of Hedo and the people having vacations there. It prevents you from being there at the wrong time or having wrong expectations about your vacations. And I have been laughing tears reading about vinnies and sandalites....If you want to have the best vacation of your lifetime, read this book and get the spirit!

As "repeat offenders" of Hedo II, we had to buy Chris's new book. It is packed with information that will help out the "Hedo Virgin" or the person returning for their 50th trip! The stories will make you laugh, the pictures will make you giggle (when you remember how drunk you had to be to do that), the packing list is invaluable to the first timer, the drink recipes help out the old timers, and the phone numbers help secure that "special" H block room. All in all a great job Chris!

If you are going to Hedo for the first time then this book is not an option, it is just a plain necessity. There is information here that you will not get anywhere else. It tells you that you need to bring safety pins to hold your toga in place. Who would have thought that you'll have a CD player in each room but maybe not an alarm clock?

My wife learned that she is going to have to bring toenail polish because the sand on the beach will wear it off (uhhh yeah, that sounds right). There's lots of that kind of advice.

The book is filled with wonderful advice. There are also the pithy stories. It tells you what it's really like, without the hype. You learn that it's not the decadent snake pit that a lot of people make it out to be.

I imagine that if you've been to Hedo you will find this book a mirthfull book of memories.

The books is well written. It is worth every penny.
