Label President Terence Yallop, who leads a 15-minute guided meditation on Namastés second bonus disc, has done a superb job of assembling pieces that transmit New Age musics most trancelike and devotional qualities. Two beautiful tracks are from Karuneshs Zen Breakfast, two from discs by Buedi Siebert. "Prabhupada Padma" from Rasa in Concert features the vocals of Kim Waters. Kims voice is so sensual that she could sing a grocery list and have you down on your knees, pledging eternal devotion to Kelloggs Corn Flakes and hopefully something more organic. The music of Ben Leinbach, excerpted from his Spirit of Yoga disc, has already received praise in these pages: Yallop wisely uses it as background to his meditation as well as a solo track. Add in Benjamin Iobsts Singing Bowls of Tibet and other beautiful offerings from Devakant and Gary Malkin, and youve got a collection as ideally suited to dinner by candlelight as for contemplation, meditation, and just plain daydreaming.

Hauntingly beautiful,
By John Trudo (Colorado Springs, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Namaste (Audio CD)
This may be the most hauntingly beautiful music I've ever experienced. While the tracks contain enough eastern mysticism to satisfy the kind of listener who might be intrigued by the CD title, there is something more here than temple bells. From Rasa's hypnotic "Prabhupada Padma" to the eerily sublime "Calling Wisdom" and the oddly touching "The End of Suffering," the music satisfies something elemental in the soul. This is a 2-CD set. The second CD contains a meditation exercise of about 15 minutes. While meditation may not be your thing, you can't go wrong with the music.

Sensual and Spiritual. A must have!!,

I've owned this CD for about a year and absolutely love it!! I was surprised there was only one other review made on amazon. I use this CD just about every night when I go to bed, it is beautiful. It gives me such a sense of well-being and deep inter-peace.
It is a compilation of many different musicians and includes music along with relaxing vocals and gongs and chimes. I love one of the final songs called The End of Suffering (music by Gary Malin and vocals by Phap Niem). Unfortunately, amazon doesn't include a clip of this particular song. It has both East Indian and Asian influences. I also love the song by Rasa entitled Prabhupada Padma. I promise, you won't be disappointed, all of the songs on the CD are unique and wonderful unlike many CD today where you get only 1 or 2 really good songs. There is something very sensual and spiritual about this music. I don't understand the words, but the internal feelings I get are very peaceful and relaxing. Also included is a second CD with a 15-minute meditation. I have to say when I first went through the meditation it almost scared me. You are taken into a place of nature on a hillside and a stream and you meet up with a stranger. That's what scared me because he doesn't tell you that you're actually going to meet up with yourself! Since then I have gone through the meditation and it is quite good, now that I know the stranger ;o) If you're interested in a meditation CD you might also try Yoga Nidra (which you can find in my reviews on amazon.com).

Absolutely Blissful!,

This is one of the most blissfully meditative CD's I've listened to in a long time! I can listen to it all day and never get tired of it. It has music that heals at all levels. If you're really having a stressful day, week, or month, this with a cup of herbal tea will have you de-stressed in no time!
