Nambé was founded in 1951 in a village of the same name in scenic northern New Mexico. From the beginning, the company focused on hand-producing high-quality, functional items such as metal bowls and trays with great attention to timeless, modern design. Still made in the USA, Nambé's signature metal alloy is liquified, poured into a hand-made sand cast, and the resulting piece repeatedly polished and smoothed by hand. Exceptional gifts for the most special of occasions, Nambé metal bowls and accessories are now joined by porcelain and crystal pieces, each flawlessly crafted. Nambé ware has won numerous design awards, has been shown in or recognized by nearly two dozen museums worldwide, and is part of the permanent collections of many, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. --Ann Bieri

They Forgot to Mention Physics..,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nambé 7-inch Wine Chiller (Kitchen)
When this item is warm, it looks exactly as advertised but don't forget about physics. Freeze the chiller and the polished surface becomes coated with frozen water crystals. Like just about anything you stick in the freezer, it becomes frosted. While it still performs its function, it is not nearly as appealing to the eye. As the chiller warms up, the water crystals melt and water in the air condenses on its surface leaving droplets. My wife and I still love this item and use it regularly, but I didn't get what I expected.

Nambe wine chiller,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nambé 7-inch Wine Chiller (Kitchen)
I have tried a couple of other wine chillers: ceramic, clay that you soak and freeze, double wall plastic, wine bucket with ice,and have not been satisfied when we are outside on a warm evening. In my continued search for the right one, I chose the 7" Mambe. It lives in the freezer, it's always ready, it's not bulky, it's elegant with it's shape and angled top and it keeps wine cool for a long time. This is design as it should be, beautiful and functional.

My husband and I received this as a wedding gift 13 years ago. We still use it a couple of times a month and really enjoy it. It does keep the wine cold and, I think, it's beautiful.
