XBOX owners! Buy this game NOW! Tons of fun!,

This review is from: Namco Museum (Video Game)
Being an old-school gamer who grew up playing these games in the 80's, I was excited when Namco announced they were releasing Namco Museum for the XBOX! And for only [price], this is one of the best gaming deals you can find! The arranged Pac-Man mode is worth the cost of the game itself! You get emulated versions of Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position 1 and 2, Galaxian, and Dig Dug. Having just these classic titles on one disc is worth the cost of the disc, but Namco also included modernized "arranged" versions of Pac-Man, Galaga and Dig Dug which have modern graphics and even boss battles as well as two player simultaneous play! These arranged versions were originally released in the arcades back in the mid-90's and they are translated PERFECTLY here! Guess what? Namco also included Pacmania AND Pac-Attack as unlockable titles! That's 12 games one one disc! Whether your a longtime gamer like myself or a l337 newbie who cut his teeth on nothing but modern consoles, you'll find yourself playing these games for hours! SO much variety and one final option that Namco saw fit to include.... YOUR HIGH SCORES ARE RETAINED! This may not sound like a big thing, but believe me, it's a much-needed feature and something that has been left out in past versions! Any problems? Strictly minor...sometimes the screens look small, some sound glitches (sometimes the music seems out of tempo on some of the high score entry screens), and you may want to invest in a Controller S or joystick since these games demand some precise joypad movement. I bought this on launch day and it will forever remain a part of my XBOX library. It's truly that good!!

Namco Museum for XBOX: A Good Family Game for Nostalgia,
By David Lubin (San Diego, California United States) - See all my reviews

Wow! 12 games on one disk! This is probably the best bargain for X-Box. It includes Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position 1 and 2, Galaxian, and Dig Dug. Additionally, Namco Museum comes with modernized "arranged" versions of Pac-Man, Galaga and Dig Dug which have sharper graphics, good sound effects, and, best of all, two player simultaneous play! I love this two player feature! Playing Pac-Man simultaneously with someone else is a lot of fun! Good teamwork is definitely needed! One important feature: the High Scores are saved! All in all, this is a great buy. The games are good and reminiscent of the old 1980s style arcades. This game, however, requires no more quarters to be plunked down! Although cheaper to simply play these games online or on the computer, it was fun on the X-Box and on my TV. Like almost all games, it does get old after a long period of repeated play, but has greater staying power than many strategy or mission games. It is great for play with the girlfriend, sister, or even parents. My mother, uniterested in halo or Madden, loved playing Pac-Man. This is a super edition to any X-Box library!

A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE,
By A Customer
This review is from: Namco Museum (Video Game)
I bought the X-Box for my husband (34) at the end of
last year. He received several games for his X-Box at
Christmas (sports, racing, action/adventure etc.) I
selfishly bought Namco Museum for him because I thought
I would actually like it.
Of all the games he's got, this one has been played the
most!! Yeah, the graphics aren't as fabulous as the new
games, but nothing beats a night of fun with a game that
anyone can pick up and play without having to read a manual
to figure it out. Men, if your spouses or significant others
are always onto you about the time you spend playing X-Box, Buy
this game. After I realized how fun it was, I never complained
again.

These games play EXACTLY like the original versions I used to play in the old arcade days.Same graphics, sound effects, strategy, etc. Exact ports of the originals.

Entertaining.....for a little while,

This game is very simple. It has 4 basic games which each include another version of the same game. When you first play it it is pretty fun trying out the games, but after you've done that there's really nothing left to do. The games (esspecially Dig Dug and Galaga) seem to go on forever! Overall this is a good game if you want to relax and just have fun. It is very stress free, since it is so easy. But stay away from the raceing game! It's horrible! The controlls work, but to an extreme! You barely try to move over and you end up in the grass or blow up! The only game I haven't mentioned is Pac-Man. I like that this game includes 3 versions of it (Ms.Pac-Man, Pac-Man, and Pac-Man Arrangment). They are all basically the same, but if you've always love the original arcade version (like me!) you will enjoy playing them. So what I've basically been trying to say this whole time is Namco Museum is pretty fun in short periods of time, it's not very challenging, and is great for younger kids and new gammers who want something simple and easy.

I disagree with just about all of these reviews...,

These are the same games you remember from the eighties....of course they seem basic by today's standards, but if you loved them like I did you will be very happy with this game. No duh pac man and ms. pacman are the same game....we knew that in 1983. The point is, you will likely buy this game out of nostalgia, not because you are looking for the next huge special effects dynamo p.c. game. If you loved these games 20 years ago, you'll enjoy the heck out of this game because they are the exact same games simply made playable on the Xbox.
