Great book and good songs make this a winner!, April 4, 2011

When our family heard that TFIA was writng a book, we were excited. Since many of their family songs tell great stories, we thought this would be a great move for them. We were not diappointed.
"He's not chicken, he's just a cat named Chicken Joe." Book and song tell the story of animals with names that do not match: cat names Chicken Joe, a dog named Miss Kitty, a parakeet named King Kong, etc. The book matches the lyrics and encourages the kids to red/sing along. The pictures are colorful and complement the song well.
The rest of the disc is fun to listen to, but not that TFIA has to offer. Many of the songs are available on previous albums and they are not always the best cuts from other albums. That being said, it is still enjoyable and the kids love it. Aside from the title track, we enjoy "My Best Day", "Something Sweet", "It's a Puzzle", "Fill It Up", "Why I Pack My Lunch", and "Count On Me".
If you are already into Trout Music, you will enjoy the mixed media and new songs. It will encourage kids to read and sing. If you are just starting with Trout Fishin in America, "Big Round World" or "My Best Day" would be better CD's to start with.
