Patterson makes effective use of movement back and forth in time to tell his story and develop depth in the characters.
In this one, didn't enjoy the tangled family web told in various stories, didn't care about the characters, waited and waited for the history of the main character and decided not to wait around anymore.
The complexity of the relationships among the characters and the impact these relationships had on their motivations was excellent.
