Comment: This book has already been well loved by someone else and that love shows. It MIGHT have highlighting, underlining, be missing a dust jacket, or SLIGHT water damage, but over-all itâ?TMs still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

This book is fun but the puzzles are hard! After trying to figure out the movie from the icon clues, it really felt like a victory to get the answer correct.

Some of the movies are not ones I am familiar with...in fact, some are very esoteric...so it was a bit frustrating to spend time trying to guess a movie I did not know.

If you have a friend who is a BIG movie fan (like I do) this seems like a perfect gift.

Got it as a gift for my cousin and we paged through it for a few hours. It's just challenging enough to make it fun and not too hard to make you want to tear it to pieces. A great coffee table book.

There is a wide range of movies in this book, from 1939 to current films. Some are easy to guess, others are hard. If you haven't seen one, it'll definitely be hard to guess what it is. There are two indexes in the back. One that's an alphabetical listing of every film in the book (with release year) ,and the second is a listing by page number.

I used this book and its drawings as the basis for a game at an Oscar party. I copied some of the panels (each movie is like a 6 panel illustration) and passed them around. Whoever guessed the most, got a prize.

My only complaint about the book is that it has some tasteless illustrations in it that do not make it family friendly. You might not want children under 10 looking at it, which is a shame because they will be interested in the drawings. There is an abundance of dead and/or mutilated bodies, and one of the Anchorman drawings seems like an odd choice. Little kids might ask a lot of questions if they see this book!

The artwork in Name That Movie was fun and the level of challenge was high for many of the puzzles.
If you do not pay attention to small details while watching films, this book might not be for you. For example, the author is an admitted fan of, and relies on drawings of signs and street scenes. That said, I enjoyed it and it made for good conversation at our family holiday gathering.

I got this a an X mas present and I was able to guess 68 of the 100 puzzles. (Anyone out there beat that?)

You have to have a broad knowledge of classic films back to the 40's, foreign films, and independent films like Cohen Bros and Tarantino to get all the films. I still loved it, but I could see many out there frustrated and disappointed by this.

I hope there's a sequel ;)
