Great Books for Identifying Fonts,
By Lori Barber (Oakland, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Name This Font - A Practical Encyclopedia of Letterforms: Volume 2: Uppercase Fonts - Decorative/Design/Display, Script, Blackletter/Uncial (Paperback)
These books have been very helpful in identifying fonts. Being a Production Artist, I often get a hardcopy of a layout and am expected to recreate it. Mr. Skrivan's books have been a great help in identifying fonts. These books have also been helpful in finding a font to use. If I need a specific type of font, I can look under individual letters and find which one I have in mind. This is most helpful with script, display and blackletter fonts. The only drawback is that the books are only uppercase letters. Hopefully, there will be a book for lowercase letters soon.
