I think initially I may have wanted this set more than my daughter. I grew up reading Nancy Drew books. I asked my 11 year old to just read the first one and now she is hooked. She's reading them all, in order, and is on #15 already. The is a WONDERFUL set to give for a gift for ANY age!!

I remember accompanying my mother to our neighborhood used bookstore every weekend, and using whatever I had saved of my allowance to purchase a used Nancy Drew mystery book. This was almost three decades ago, and the memories of those weekends are still fresh in my mind. I used to read and re-read those Nancy Drew books until I had memorized entire passages!

Sadly, I had lost many of those books with years spent moving around, until a couple of years ago when my kind husband purchased the entire set for me as a Christmas gift! I was over the moon, especially since we have a young daughter and I was hoping to share these books with her. The set comes in a cardboard box but it is not of very good quality so I threw it out and shelved the books in my bookcase. The covers are beautifully reproduced from the books I remember from my childhood, though it needs to be mentioned that the covers are not from the original artwork back in the 1930s. For those seeking the original covers, you'll need to scour the internet and/or purchase some of the "Just as You Remember Them" reissues (which I have since added to my collection). Note: It is worth doing some comparison shopping as there are some really good deals (my set cost about two hundred dollars).

I love these books. I grew up reading them, and when I found the whole set together I had to get them. I'll pass them on to my kids one day.

We got a fantastic price and received them in record time. I'm very pleased with this seller. As to the books themselves, Nancy Drew will always stand the test of time. My mother read them, I read them, and now my little girl will get to read them. Who cares if technology has changed, a good mystery will always entertain. When I was little, I wistfully looked at the list at the back of each book and my dream was to own them all. Now my daughter can experience that dream come true! And her mom will enjoy them, too!

I purchased this set NEW from GREATBOOKDEALS in January 2009 for $240.99 and now the price for the SAME new set is $398.78! What could possibly be the reason for raising the price so high?? These are children's books. Raising the price to such an unreasonable amount will only prevent parents from being able to afford them. I understand capitalism, but this is just plain GREED.

Bought the set for my neice and she loves them as much as I did. Great price (though be aware of ship time-- it took a few weeks to arrive).

Purchased for my granddaughter so she can have great memories later as I have from the impact of reading these books at a young age. Great collection!!

If you have a serious Nancy Drew fan in your house who is happy to reread the books, this is the gift to give. I have been checking these books out from the library for years for my three daughters, and finally got inspired to just get the set. One of them told me it was the best Christmas gift they have ever received--and that's saying something. I should have thought of this years ago!

The set of books came with no plastic protection, just thin cardboard box left outside on wet pavement for books to soak up water. Todate nothing has been done. I guess just empty promises.
