Nancy Drew travels to the Canadian Rockies to investigate the Icicle Creek Lodge. Chantal, the owner of the lodge has asked her to uncover the culprit behind a recent string of suspicious accidents. To make matters worse, an eerie howling wolf keeps everyone up at night and terrorizes the guests. The wolf also appears at the site of accidents and then mysteriously disappears when the police arrive. As Nancy makes her way to the cozy lodge, an explosion rocks the quiet night, destroying a bunkhouse. Meet the characters
Ollie Randal The resident handyman at Icicle Creek Lodge is tired of the wolf disrupting his day and terrorizing guests. Shooting the wolf and mounting it on the wall will solve all of the resort's problems, or so he claims at least. Could he be using the wolf as a cover for his own personal agenda?
Yanni Volkstaia This egotistical Olympic cross-country skier believes his competitors are spying on him and trying to rattle his nerves. The howling wolf and Nancy, he says, have been sent to distract him from his training! What is so secretive about his technique that he would like to get rid of all the guests at the lodge?
Guadalupe Comillo A birdwatcher who knows very little about birds, but plenty about wolves. This suspect arrived at the lodge just as the trouble with the wolf started, and she hasn't been frightened away yet. Is this suspect trying to scare away the other guests?
Bill Kessler An avid ice-fisherman who would like to spend his days catching record setting Northern Pikes at the lodge. The prowling wolf has put a damper on his trip, and he wants it destroyed. Even if it means destroying Icicle Creek Lodge. Could his obsession and hatred cause him to resort to sabotage?
Lou Talbot Recently graduated from the University of California - Brea, this suspect is a lot more mature and sophisticated than he seems. With his handsome features hidden behind his tousled bangs, he's a world of contradictions and complexities. He's the only one who says the wolf isn't responsible for the sabotage, but there's a lot more to the story that he's not telling.

"The White Wolf of Icicle Creek" is a very solid addition to the Nancy Drew game franchise. We are fans of the Nancy Drew games and up to now have played all of the other games on PC. The limited replayabilty of the game likely made it a poor choice for the Wii, but since we play the games with the whole family it was easier for us to to do it our living room rather than our cramped den where the PC is.

The game pretty much follows the format of the most recent Nancy Drew games. This time Nancy has to solve a fairly challenging mystery in a lodge filled with an interesting array of guests/suspects.

What we liked:

* Great plot and story line
* Longer game play than recent Nancy Drew games
* Fantastic graphics, the best so far
* Really good puzzles and challenges

What we didn't like:

* Repetitive tasks, Nancy's cover is as a maid (and cook) so you have to clean rooms EVERY day
* Limited exploration time

This Nancy Drew game is a step up from recent installments and was a lot of fun for us!

I got this game for my mom, and it is one of the only Wii games she actually likes. First of all, it's based on books she read as a kid. Second, it's not violence/action based. You explore a lodge in snowy remote Canada, and uncover secrets about all the lodge guests. There are many puzzles you have to solve that vary in difficulty from easy to hard, and it's a great game for our whole family to play and try to solve together. There are a few action-oriented mini-games (cooking, jumping across icebergs, etc) that the kids love, so there's a bit of something for everyone. Highly recommended - it kept everyone engrossed for many hours.

I just finished this game and I absolutely loved it! If you want a point and click mystery game, then this is for you!

I have read all the reviews and am a little surprised, I thought the load times were extremely short. They were like a second. That is long? Is this new generation so technically advanced that there is no patience? With most mystery games, the first time I played I did a lot of exploring so that I knew what was going on, etc. By exploring at getting used to the game I learned to navigate quite quickly and could zip trough where ever I needed.

I don't understand how people thought this game was boring. The music was perfect for the game, I can't remember getting sick of it (And at one point I played the game for like 6 hours straight into the middle of the night) and kept me intrigued. The story line is good, I loved how everyone seemed suspect (as they should).

The controls were a little funky at times, but not so much that it made me not enjoy the game, I thought they were really well done in the sense that I could click through quickly, the only problem being that sometimes the turn around icon was a bit off (as in it wouldn't appear).

As for the repetitive maid tasks, just don't do them if you don't like them! I would set the alarm for 9am so that I didn't have to do breakfast, but I liked cleaning the rooms because I think it was necessary to see if stuff changed.

I played this game on the senior mode, but for those that seem to not have as much patience I would do the junior level. And regardless of which level, TURN ON THE TWINKLE OPTION! Sometimes you can't see if you have a darker set TV and this makes seeing the items easier! (Some of the items you find are journals, etc. and the only time I really got stuck was simply because I didn't realize there were more pages to flip through in some items I found).

I was sad when this game ended because I thought it was really excellent!
