Nancy Ross Hugo is an outdoor writer and lecturer who has been combining her love of the outdoors and the written word for over thirty years. As garden columnist for the Richmond Times-Dispatch then education manager at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, she learned to write from the perspective of a learner and to appreciate the importance (and joy) of making new discoveries about nature. She is an avid gardener, native plant enthusiasit, flower arranger, and tree hugger. She hopes her epitaph will be as accurate as her bumper sticker: "Tree Hugging Dirt Worshipper."
