5.0 out of 5 stars great fitting, very llight and flexible, June 12, 2009

This review is from: Oakley Nanowire 1.0 Men's Polarized Active Lifestyle Racewear Sunglasses - Color: Brown Chrome/Tungsten Iridium, Size: One Size Fits All
I purchased this pair about a year ago and have always loved them. they are light and fit my face perfectly (I always have a hard time with fitment because my temples are wide and because of the curvature of my face, most sunglasses leaves too much of a gap at the top and bottom. Oakley is known to better suit "asian" faces.

I typically like to have spring hinges due to my wide temples experience has taught me that ones without them gets stretched out and thus distorts the image so initially i was skeptical, but after i tried on the nano wire with the titanium frame I was sold. the natural flex in the frames more then makes up for the lack of spring hinges. I bought this pair to replace a pair of square wires that I had for over 6 years, until I lost them. I was looking to replace them with the same one, but the new square wires are heavier and bulkier, and adding the polarized lenses, they were only like $20 less then the nanowires.

at the time, i also tried the whisker polarized titanium but those too are a little narrow. I figured the titanium should bend, but that proved to be a mistake. the whisker has a more traditional frame that just isn't meant to bend. i actually had a pair for three days until I was wearing a cap and stretched it a little to rest over the sides of the cap. the stems didn't give enough and the lens actually popped out.

Lastly, i have to mention that the gripper pads that oakley uses really work...I have gone rafting with them and have gone overboard with them on. when i surfaced, they were still planted on my face. from that day on, i have been sold and don't think twice when I need a pair of sunglasses, especially if they will be for activities.
