Modulo 1000 - 'Nao Fale Com Paredes' (RPM),
By
This review is from: Nao Fale Com Paredes (Audio CD)
Originally released in 1970, as this looks to be the obscure Brazilian psychedelic / progressive band's only lp. Here, you get the albums initial nine songs + eight added (nice!) bonus tracks. Just love these CD reissues. Their heavy influences have been noted to come from Zeppelin and Steppenwolf. Few of the songs that did for me were "Turpe Est Sine Crine Caput", "Espelho", the six-minute rocking "Metro Mental" and "Salve-Se Quem Ruder". Line-up: Luiz Paulo Simas - keyboards & vocals, Daniel Cardona - guitar & vocals, Eduardo Leal - bass and Candinho - drums. Would likely do something for fans of German Oak, Algarnas Tradgard and maybe early Hawkwind. Overall, not a bad CD.

Insane, murky, sludgy psych-prog/heavy rock from Brazil in the early 1970s. Definitely worth checking out! (DJ Joe Sixpack, Slipcue Brazilian Music Guide)
