Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Avoid pulling, tugging, or exerting undue effort with Turning Leaf’s lever-operated corkscrew. This handsome tool, ideal for the aspiring sommelier or consummate entertainer, features a durable plastic body, heavyweight metal lever with matte finish, and rubberized grips to ensure a firm hold. Ergonomically-designed to function comfortably, this tool works seamlessly with standard and flanged bottlenecks and features a nonstick-coated worm to aid cork penetration. Highlights of the accompanying spring-loaded foil cutter include an easy-to-grip plastic cover and two sharp blades. The handsome stand, constructed of the same durable black plastic, provides a resting spot for the corkscrew when not in use. Additionally, it carries a small opening to store foil cutter, and can double as a wine coaster to protect linens or table surfaces. This piece is not suitable for the dishwasher, but wipes clean easily with a damp cloth. The included food and wine pairing guide provides instruction to encourage a coordinated meal. --Amy Arnold

1.0 out of 5 stars This is the worst corkscrew I have ever used, March 31, 2009
This review is from: Napa Essentials Lever-Operated Corkscrew (Kitchen)
I was looking for a cool new corkscrew to replace my old one. This one came shipped with nice design and looks. Bottom-line, the thing is better to push the cork into the bottle than pull it out. Total disaster. I now ask friends if they can do it and not one has been able to figure it out. Waste of my money.

Funny enough, I bought because I live near Napa. I question whether the company is located in China instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Napa Corkscrew, June 16, 2009
This review is from: Napa Essentials Lever-Operated Corkscrew (Kitchen)
This product is hopeless. The pathetic thing only got used twice, it was difficult to use the first time, the second time I had to pry the cork out manually. No real instructions like, how do you take out the corkscrew to replace it. I have even gone into wine stores to find out if anyone knows how to take it out and it even confuses the experts. Also, where is the company? They just don't seem to have a website for direct comments. Lastly, I found a new home for it: "The Garbage."
