Useful book but concentrates on only a few wine farms and producers.

I am a resident of the Bay area, and yet found hidden treasures in Napa and Sonoma thanks to this well written and organized book.

Used the book for a two day trip to napa. It had great infomation and maps. The book is also the perfect size, as it will fit in a purse or your pocket.

The format is handy and the concept cool, but the text and the "curatorial" choices in this tiny volume are such low quality I was shocked to see it from Lonely Planet, whose guides I usually find great. Knowing the area from 25 years of wine country visits, I thought the choices offered and the descriptions were, again, oddball and substandard. I would recommend getting the Moon Napa & Sonoma (Moon Handbooks) instead. It is extremely well written and well done. The newer Lonely Planet Guide would be another good selection.
