Possible Health Hazard; Enamel Flakes Off into Food!!!!,

This review is from: NapaStyle Enamel Cast Iron Reversible Double Burner Griddle and Grill Pan Mustard (50221) (Kitchen)
I purchased this product in 11/2005. As the other reviewers note, food sticks to the griddle making it impossible to clean. I own Le Creuset cookware, and this product is not in the same class at all. About 6-months after we purchased the product we noted that big chunks of enamel were adhering to food like chicken. We stopped using the product and I intended to contact customer service, but did not do so until today. They basically said that the warranty is only 1-year, even for a possible manufacturing defect that could pose a health problem. I am a physician and would not use this product or any enameled cookware that is produced by this company unless they have made significant changes to the process. I will never order from Napastyle again. Poor quality and no accountability.

Happy grilling; Sad cleanup,

I purchased this reversible griddle because I did not want a teflon coated cooking surface. Dr. Mercola recommends enamel covered cast iron, so I was excited when I found this product. It cooks fine, but the clean up is terrible. As a result, I haven't used it but a couple of times - once for turkey patties and once to grill zucchini. I used olive oil on the griddle to keep items from sticking and cooked at a low temperature, but it didn't seem to help much. I didn't have a big problem with the items sticking, but it left me cleaning for a long time! (I'm still working on cleaning it from the zucchini!)
Did mention this is twice as heavy as a normal griddle?

I purchased this grill with the hope of having an easy-clean grill and griddle. Boy, was I disappointed. My first cooking endeavor was grilled chicken. I grilled the chicken and it was fine-tasting, but the clean-up was horrible. I let the grill soak for two days, but still I had to use the end of a wooden spoon to clean the grooves. Crazy. This week I tried French toast on the griddle side. I even oiled the griddle before I put on the French toast...you'd have thought the toast was made of pure sugar (there's not any in it) by the way it stuck -- and stuck hard -- to the griddle. I have no idea what I'm going to be able to cook on it without it sticking! Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'll try again...
