Wish I'd written it,

Whenever I get ornery with myself I think about or reread this book. I can't tell you how many times I threw it across the room when first reading it; I didn't want its truths to be true but I couldn't get away from or counter them. I wish I'd had this book as a teenager or college student.

Not your typical self-help book,
By Barbara Flynn (Scottsdale, AZ) - See all my reviews

This book has saved me on many occasions. I never want to be without it! Durst makes such incredible sense, that you can literally open to any page and be inspired. The format is so entertaining and readable, I find myself returning whenever I need a reality check. I have given this book as a gift many times, always to rave reviews.

my favorite book ever,

simply the clearest, funniest, and clearly thought out presentation of what needs to be done in this life that I have ever come across. I have lent my copy out many times and every time the ideas and humour have been very well recieved. I have read hundreds of books of this genre and this is the one I always go back to. The author has a profound understanding of the human condition. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

YES YES YES,
By The Book Man (British Columbia, Canada) - See all my reviews

This is IT. All the little catch phrases that he uses, the excellent layout, the funny cartoons - they're all cute & fun & easy to get into. But it's the message BEHIND that matters the most about this book. It blows William Glasser out of the water - oh, it's the same theory, all about CHOICE, what you choose to make out of your life, what you choose to do about the things that bother you in your life. It's an amazing little find, a gem, the only self help book that you'll ever need. Period.

If you own only 1 philosophy or self help book in your life, this is the one. I commonly refer to this book as my "bible" because it is simply the most useful, practical, and realistic approach to how to get the most out of your every day experiences in life. This book is mandatory for anyone who considers themself alive and breathing. You don't know how much of life you're missing until after you've read this book. It is simply the most superb book of it's genre.

Enjoy this one & also try "Management by Responsibility",

This is a terrific book. I am frantically looking for the other textbook titled "Management by Responsibility" by Michael Durst ISBN 0-9602552-1-4, but cannot find any in the United States. Is there another outlet? My company has used them to train EVERY employee for many years; and we need them by the dozen!

Responsibility = results,

I first came across this book when I was a college student. It did a great job of explaining concepts I was interested in at the time, but did not have the experience necessary to explain to others. It puts forth in a fun easy to understand way a collection of proven concepts , which may be perceived as secular in nature, but are typically age old in nature and reflected in many of the world's theological teachings. At its essence, it's a guide book on how to improve your attitude, take responsibility, and how to start making things happen for yourself, rather than be the victim of everything life inevitably throws at each of us. I highly recommend this book to anyone for serious consideration and reflection. This is a particularly good book to share with anyone who can't seem to get their act together. Maybe it will be the kick in the pants they need to change.

The BEST self-book ever,
By "ylenkinski" (Newton, MA) - See all my reviews

This book transformed my life. It is my absolute favorite book of all time and I give it to everyone I really care about. I must have bought at least 20 of them in the past 12 years since it was published. Like another reader, I have been looking for Durst's other book and can not find it. If you want to take hold of your life - get this one. You will lough as you learn, and it will change your life forever.
