5.0 out of 5 stars A DAILY PRIMER FOR OVERCOMING YOUR "STALLED" THINKING
The weakness of most programs for helping a person improve his or her life is the lack of follow-up. 5.0 out of 5 stars A DAILY PRIMER FOR OVERCOMING YOUR "STALLED" THINKING, February 8, 1999

This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
The weakness of most programs for helping a person improve his or her life is the lack of follow-up. New principles have to be applied repeatedly before they become new habits that overcome the old (bad habits arising from "stalled" thinking) that caused the problem in the first place. Many books make no attempt to deal with this. Napoleon Hill in his classic, THINK AND GROW RICH, did address the question originally by providing daily exercises for the reader to follow. Many people probably find that they lack the self-discipline, the time, or other key resources to follow that good advice. For those people (probably 99% of us), this book is helpful, because it is easier to use on a daily basis. Although these meditations will leave you short of the results you would get from following Napoleon Hill's original advice, they may keep you going to the point where you become motivated to do that. As such, this book is a great investment for almost everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Being Positive Always Wins the Day, December 1, 2002
By
Kyle Webster (Bloomfield, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
This book is organized by days of the year, but I enjoyed just opening it and discovering my "message" for the day. I opened it just now and one of the affirmations was "a negative mind only spawns negative ideas." Following is a short paragraph discussing the point. The affirmations are seemingly simple, but they lead to deeper issues and consideration of how you engage your mind and how you intereact with the world because of it. It is a good precursor to my current favorite book (recently published) on "positivity" - The One Minute Guide to Prosperity and Enlightenment - which gives actual techniques on how to use your positive energy/positive attitude to achieve financial and spiritual success. I just opened the One Minute Guide to a chapter with the title - "Take Control of Your Thoughts: Everything that happens in your life depends on how you spend your thought energy. You are your thoughts." Everything is colored my our own perceptions and these affirmations and techniques reinforce and demonstrate ways in which you can continually strive to achieve a positive state of mind. Good reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars Daily Meditations, September 28, 2001

This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
Although I have not "completed" this book (as I haven't had it for one year (365 days); I have found it to be helpful. This book is by no means "rules to live by for a better way to live", but it gives me information to read about on a daily basis and thoughts to ponder. As it has been proven, time and time again- by reading about these things on a regular basis (and through repetition)- miraculous results will begin to occur. This is an excellent book with which to read "in combination with other books". This book helps to set the foundation to help anyone who is willing to honestly "work" to be that person they have always wanted to be. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read "daily meditations"... On another note, I am a major coffee drinker... it's real nice to sit down in the morning and have that Folgers "wake me up", but it's even better to read these daily meditations and have it "really open my eyes"!

3.0 out of 5 stars A summary of Napoleon Hill principles written long after his death, May 6, 2008
This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
I am hard pressed to rate any material of Napoleon Hill's negatively as his original works are among the most profound books I have read on personal achievement. The content presented in Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan in undeniably worthy advice as would be expected of anything using Hill's thoughts as a basis.

Many of the books now prepared by the Napoleon Hill foundation and presented as if written by Hill himself share the same weakness, as they are mere rewritten accounts and/or summarizations of Hill's thoughts without any new or fresh substance. Unfortunately this book does not rise above this status as it merely summarized 365 pieces of advice presented in other Napoleon Hill books. The entire book is also attainable by signing up for free email quotations from the Napoleon Hill Foundation.

Napoleon Hill's principles are timeless, and thus the summary format in this book is not without value; however, if you are seeking anything more than a refresher, I recommend passing on this book and sticking to the original books actually written by Napoleon Hill himself such as Think and Grow Rich.

Napoleon Hill is the recognized expert on all things success. In this book, Hill reveals how you can grow rich, and keep your mental act together at the same time. Typical of Hill's writing style, the book is easy to read, and features numerous examples from his real life experience. Specifically, this book covers, among many other things:

Devloping a winning attitude.
Spotting opportunities.
Using teamwork.
Gaining peace of mind.

This book focuses on achieving success through positive relationships and a healthy mental attitude. For more information on achieving financial success, you may want to read "The 17 Principles of Creating Wealth," by Phillip Collinsworth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource., July 18, 2007
This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
I love this book. I use it often for daily inspiration. I have even typed the daily thoughts, categorized by month, into Microsoft Word. I then printed & filed them in my daily planner. Reading one every morning helps focus my mind on what is important. Love the writings on personal character.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS NOT WRITTEN BY NAPOLEON HILL, September 30, 2009
By
This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
Please be advised that this book is NOT WRITTEN BY NAPOLEON HILL. It is a rework of his writing (interpreted/updated)of the other twelve books he wrote while his was alive. This book was published in 1995(per the published date in the book)and Napoleon Hill died in 1970.

If you are going to read and learn from Napoleon Hill, I suggest you buy the books he actually authored and not these rehashed, updated versions of his books. The twelve books Napoleon Hill wrote are: Law of Success(1928), The Magic Ladder to Success (1930 and if you are looking for information on Master Minds, this is the one to read), Think and Grow Rich(1937), How to Sell Your Way Through Life(1938), Mental Dynamite(1941), The Master Key to Riches(1948), How to Raise Your Own Salary(1953), Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude(1959 co-authored with W. Clement Stone), PMA Science of Success Course(1961), Grow Rich With Peace of Mind(1967), Succeed and Grow Rich Through Persuasion(1970)and You Can Work Your Own Miracles(1971, a year after Hill's death). These dates are per the Napoleon Hill Foundation.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Foolproof Action Plan for Life, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
Napoleon Hill's beautifully crafted daily meditations are bound to make each day a success for practically anybody. When added together for a considerable length of time, it's a foolproof action plan for life.

Its remarkable simplicity proves once again that complex programs & policies aren't always what they're cracked up to be; the "K.I.S.S." approach usually gets the job done much better---"Keep it simple, stupid!"

I couldn't agree more. Napoleon Hill understood the way to get positive results, and this wonderful book demonstrates that, with great and simple eloquence.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only 365 sentences, August 27, 2001
By
Abdul Sattar Ansari (Jeddah, Western Saudi Arabia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Napoleon Hill's Positive Action Plan: 365 Meditations For Making Each Day a Success (Paperback)
I read this book because it has the name of Hill. But only 365 sentences which are from Hills are good (even very short). The rest of the text is not helpful as hills writing. Try some other title with Hill.
