I am a Weber kettle grill groupie but I went out on a limb and bought my 1st propane gas grill. After much research I bought the Napoleon La Series and absolutely LOVE IT! WOW, there are not enough adjectives to describe my love for this grill. Perfect size for 2 people, but big enough to grill for a crowd. Quality materials and components with awesome cast iron grills. Super easy to assemble. Even easier to clean! Beautifully designed, compact, solid, classy, and can it grill the PERFECT steak!!! It's all about the BTU's per square inch and does Napoleon bring it! LOVE MY NAPOLEON! LA MAGNIFICENT GRILL!

First let me say that I live in Northwest Florida in a house that backs up to a bayou which has brackish water and I am only 1.5 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The salt air, heat, and high humidity are very tough on most things, especially things made of metal. I bought a Napoleon Prestige PRO 450 RSIB (Natural Gas) back in September, 2010 for around $1,600.00 from AJ Madison. I expected for that much money I would get at least 10 worry-free years out of it. This model appears to have the same non-stainless base that mine has. I started experiencing problems with the grill within a few months. The first big issue was that the lid castings that hold the top and sides of the hood together were not sealed air tight. This allowed air to escape in several places and create burn marks on top of the stainless steel hood. These marks significantly degraded the appearance of the grill. Napoleon customer service was very responsive and sent me a new hood. However, they didn’t completely fix the problem and the new hood also got some burn marks after a while, although not as many. The replacement hood also had an issue with the thermometer where it wouldn’t tighten enough to allow it to rest flush against the hood. I decided to live with these issues as I was fairly happy with the performance of the grill. Fast forward to July 2013 and I hear a thud that sounds like it came from the porch. I went to investigate and found that the drip pan on the grill had fallen down into the storage area of the grill. It rusted through so badly that it actually FELL out of the grooves it slides into. Napoleon sent me a replacement which is made of stainless steel. Obviously they had already learned that this part needed to be made of stainless in order to last any significant amount of time.Read more ›

Recently purchased this grill to replace a larger one that won't fit on the patio of a new Townhouse. It cooks great, burners light the first time, the controls glow neon blue when on (very cool) and are fairly precise. The grill is solid and has nice tray and burner that can fold down to reduce patio "foot print". Also, the grill is designed to help minimize "flare-ups" and when cooking a couple of Rib-eye steaks the other night it worked really well. All in all a really good grill for the price!
