Napoleon: Fame and Faults,
By LME "The Discerning Viewer" (Central CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Napoleon: The Story of the Little Corporal (Hardcover)
Terrific book for grades 4-9. The book progresses through Napoleon's life in a series of two page spreads. Each has a memorable quote of Napoleon's and a portrait or two that is pertinent to the subject of the well-written, engaging text. It is surprising how much the quotes add to the "picture" of Napoleon that is presented in this book.
Without getting bogged down in details, the author presents Napoleon the man, statesman, and military genius through many of his biggest successes and failures. This is really written for ages 8-80 and would also make a good read-aloud. Very Well-Done !! |
