"NAPOLEON HAS HUMBUGGED ME, BY GOD! HE HAS GAINED TWENTY-FOUR HOURS' MARCH ON ME." - Field Marshall Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington.
On March 1, 1815, the exiled Napoleon returned to France. Twenty days later, the great powers of Europe once more armed for war. Outnumbered, Napoleon risked all on a calculated gamble: to strike at, and shatter, the fragile Prussian-Anglo Alliance that stood between him and Brussels. The Battle of Waterloo would decide the fate of Europe.
